hi there,

does anybody know if there is any possibility to join the isaf? i'm a native german and already been to the german mountaineers. i spent a lot of time crawling through bundeswehr.de & nato.int ... not finding anything about that.

hallihallo,

weiss jemand von euch, ob es möglich ist, sich für die isaf zu melden. ich war bereits bei den gebirgsjägern und würde ganz gern ein halbes jahr da unten verbringen. ist das möglich? wenn ja, wie? und wie wird der spass bezahlt?

You'd have to enlist in the Bundeswer first.

Wehrübung als Reservist für 6 Monate in der gewünschten Auslandsverwendung. KWEA und zuständiges VBKA kontaktieren.

if you have a key qualification (i.e. language skills), there are several civilian job offers at NATO and UN.

Other than that you may think about a career in the foreign office. If you volunteer for Afghanistan, there's a good chance you'll be sent there, but of course this is a decision for life. There are many other "lovely" places you are most probably going to visit (Africa, South America, Central Asia and all that).

What about the civil services like Red Cross, GTZ and so on? I have no idea of their offers and demands.
