Now the saddam hussain is on trial. If he is found guilty should he be put to death.

And if so could this turn him into a figure head for insurgents and terrorist to carry out attacks seeking what they could call justice for his murder

Yea wrong forum, but anyway...

He's obviously a terrible excuse for a human being and should not be allowed to live. If we kill him there will be outrage within certain groups of the muslim culture. I think it would be ideal if Saddam were to be struck by lightning.

I think they should keep him alive untill there are no more cases to be tried in Court. I think that will uncover all the atrocities he ordered and maybe put some of our western politicians out to be tried. You should read the book : "How the West Armed Iraq" lotsa interesting stuff in there.

Although death would be a most wanted punishment by Saddams enemies, it would not be right for him to be killed as punishment. The coalition/Iraqi courts need to show moral courage here.

I might not be correct, but the insurgents were also supressed by Saddam Husseyn. They're fighting for some silly thing called "Islam" and not for Saddam Husseyn

As usual, kill him and you make him a martyr.
Degrade him, and make the pictures in all minds that think of Saddam; pictures of a weak old man. Make him human, make his death come late and natural.

In my opinion it is the right thing to do, though the families of those he ordered dead will never accept this.

endless torture for Saddam as payment for all the Kurds he killed...

but that would get some people screaming.

So let the Iraqis decide...and a majority seem to want him dead...

so let Saddam free...out of the courtroom, and just as he steps outside, a sniper picks him off. A rather unceremonious death.

I agree, it's for the Iraqi's to decide, but I personally don't believe that Saddam should be put to death. He can live his meagre existance in a hole in some unknown location, but than again, I guess he's used to that. After hiding in a little fox hole before he was caught.

lock him in a SVBIED like some of the poor bastards that didnt have a choice in 'volunteering' for it. line up a few abrams, some bradleys, troops, etc. and have saddam attempt to ram them in a car that cant top 6 mph. of course, should he succeed by some weird twist of fate, confetti and a flag that says "bang" is all he gets when he dets the 'bomb'
