As I remember, the guy was wounded during an attack on Hamid Karzai many months ago now. In the picture he's being helped into a car to be transported for medical assistance.

Great pictures. Reminds me of my friend who is a SOF sniper. He just got back (and is gone again...) and was for a few months actually living in caves. He's got pictures of the back of some Taliban's head and stuff like that. He said it was hilarious when they'd send a UAV over a hill or ridge and all of the Taliban would start shooting at it revealing their position. He was really skinny about 2 years ago, and now he's fat like a lot of guys in these pictures. I don't know how that works out.

I think alot of the older looking people are from the reserve units, which is where we have been getting most of our pictures from, it would be interesting to see some more active duty special forces images.

"Toughness not fitness" is one of the attributes of SF. Its a fact of life that blokes in their mid thirties haven't got the same metabolism they did when 25. Either way its about endurance not rippling abs.

Its the selection process and realistic training that lets your mind know that you can keep going regardless until your body fails physically. Most of the "roid boys" and shaved down spray tanned triathelete looking guys were washed out by the end of week 2 of my selection while the "average" looking guys kept on going blisters, pack chaff and toe nails falling off be damned!!!

Besides I'd hardly say any of these guys were fat-a bit of padding can help on long deployments especially when its cold lol

I think that he is the SF guy that was injured on the head during an assasination attempt on the Afgan prezident, Karzai(?). He took of his T-shirt and tied his wound and continued his mission which ended in killing the assasins. If he is that person I also heard that some of the top Brass in the Pentagon that saw him on TV running around half necked were very disatisfied because it looked unproffesional to them. (!). When you are fighting your wars behind a desk that what you think.
