RAS vs. SIR

OK.....why is everyone in "the business" using the KAC RAS system and not the ARMS SIR system? What makes one better than the other?

I'm by no means an expert on the subject, but I've heard that the SIR system has had some real reliability/incompatibility issues with some piece of equipment. That's what I've HEARD, but I'm sure that someone on this site knows for sure.
