(the quote is about an MP unit)
Animals in the news. This guy is our operational "controller" (for the lack of a better translation). His task is to coördinate the daily service roster, so everyone knows his task for the day. He also coördinates all the actions we are tasked with. Especially these kinds of actions take a lot of improvisation-skills. If his carreer with the MPs might fail, then this colleague can always go and work in Artis (a zoo in the Netherlands), judging from the enthousiasm of his greating to a local camel.
http://www.nldetirak.nl/eenheden/kmar2/040204foto4.jpg
This proud father of 2 daughters is called by us "sergeant oldest category". With his experience he's like a reference book for the younger colleages and he always keeps watch of some tasks, of which making the required patrol reports always has his constant attention. Right now he's busy with the administrative paperpushing of a big investigation surrounding the arrest of some local "thugs" by the Coalition Forces.

Now I don't believe that they are confiscating every press that doesn't toot the coalition's platform, but keep in mind that there are also other forms of anti-coalition materials that serve to encite violence. To prejudge these soldiers' as 'censors' in a fledgeling democracy without knowing all the facts is really reaching the bottom of the barrell in an effort to find fault.

Grass and nine others, including five children aged four to 15, left Havana on February 2 trying to reach Florida in a 1959 Buick converted into an amphibious craft, after their first attempt to flee Cuba in a Chevrolet truck in July 2003. Lester said the group drove into the sea from the beach after dark on February 2 in the modified 1959 Buick powered by its original V8 engine. Lester was among those who tried to flee the island in the first occassion but stayed back this time due to lack of space in the Buick. *******/Rafael Perez

Luckily, the rest of the worlds armed forces is not like the british then.
You don´t have to be a professor in psychology to understand that a small
break then and then is only productive and to the advantage for the whole
unit. I´m not a british soldier (obviously) but to be in duty 24/7 without a
break for the brain would be anything but productive.

Off duty or not Mustamoto in my unit every soldier was a soldier 24/7 and thus had to abide by Queens regulations......that includes shaving!!,That includes on your day off,it is called discipline,it also keeps the "proffesional look about them",clean shaven, well presented
The only time facial growth was allowed was when on Ops In NI,where some places it was impossible or extremely difficult to do so!
Even on exercise in most cases washing and shaving were a morning ritual! ,again depending on the tactical situation whether it was not uncommon to go upto 10 days without washing and shaving in the General sense!

The thing that these assholes (sorry no other word to name terrorists) are doing is installing a psychose so that nervous soldier may open fire on childs holding toys.
I don't think they are parading around like this in front israeli soldiers. And children rarely participate in either terror attacks against civilians in Israel or legitimate acts of resistance in the occupied territories. Suicide bombs have been used many times to take out personel in uniform so its not just a weapon of terror.

They still allive today , thanks to those bad bad opressing Israelies . One of the Battalion commanders was killed when he saving one of those kids from getting shot at , by his own loving brothers . If you like BigIsraeli can tell you even more stories about the kids . I also suppose that you haven't heard the term "RPG Kids" , aren't you ? You also didn't knew , that there are kids that throw rocks , to confuse the soldiers and amongst the rocks throwing grenades ? Yes , Nielsen , yes . Or perhaps fathers taking their little sons to sniper "training" ? Big brother bringing they little brothers to firefight ? No , Nielsen , haven't heard about that . I haven't heard that , Nielsen . In Israel or in say Hebron?

From the newspapers, including Israeli, its my impression that the occurence of armed children taking part in combat is rare. But if you have a first hand account I don't mind hearing it.
You also didn't knew , that there are kids that throw rocks , to confuse the soldiers and amongst the rocks throwing grenades ?
But is it a rare occurence?

This may come as surprise to you , Nielsen , but my views are somewhat left wing - i think Palestinians deserve more .But still i can't agree with the bull**** you writting .
Well , the partisipance of kids in firefights are as rare , as the firefights themselfes (and that's let's say 0.85 firefight for every IDF patrol , so let's say every patrol has 85 percent chance to get into some firefight from any kind ) . What you read on the newspapers isn't even a half of what is happening on the field (and for good reasons ) . The newspapers has to anounce about firefight only when IDF soldier getting injured /killed , when it's a big firefight or seroius operation , or when the censorship feeling it's possible to release it . And then the paper itself thinking if it should publish it , because there are just to much news from that sort . So , at the end , the newspapers telling a little story about what's happening in the field .
About my personal experience , there is no much to tell , because it's problematic to explain approx 10 hours of engagment , and also because i am not shure that i can . Let's make it this , that on the second case i was talking about , i couldn't bellieve at beggining to infantry that the source of fire was from the kids , until i haven't saw it with my own eyes .
It's also includes heavy story about ISM , something i rather keep to myself . Other story include Palestinian Ambulance with a boy inside , that was fired upon by Palestinian shooter , because it was stanted next to our tank , and was "legit" target for the shooter , just like our tank .
So , no , it's not rare , if you not read it in newspapers .
But i can tell you stories that was reliesed by cenzor . Sniper killed Israeli infantry battalion commander , just because he went out from his vehicle , and for a risk to his own life , started to evacuate palestinian children from a fire . Sniper shot at him while the commander standed in the street surrounded by kids .
And that's raising other question from me . How come i never ever hear about those facts from any Media corporation , private or publical ??

And why, exactly, do you keep it to yourself? We must use every possibility to discredit scumbags like ISM! Look at the people around here - at best, some of them think ISM is just a bunch of misguided kids - they don't understand squat about what's happening! Mr. Nielsen, for example, seriously thinks that terrorist attacks on the "occupied territories" are one thing, and in Israeli cities - another! Maybe he needs to be reminded why these territories were "occupied" in the first place?
Maybe he needs to be reminded why these territories were "occupied" in the first place?
to build settlements?

Don't forget also, that most of Israeli media is controlled by the left wing - often they withold the information because it goes against their party line.

Well , i can tell only one story in very short without details , because it was published in newspapers (and the bleedy Betselem made a book report from it ) . In Nablus , one day a cuerfew was lifted , to allow the population to do it's neads (about the day , something in the late of 2002 , i don't remember exactly) . After the lift was over , a task force went out to perform "tactical mission" , that was tank and APC . We drove , and we saw a cab , after the lift over was driving on the street . We stoped this cab , while the tank driver noticed some guy in front sit doing something . Then the driver noticed a gun . This guy suddenly jumped from the sit next to driver , and started to spray in close range - 5 metters . He was touched down by us after 5 seconds .
This guy was 14 - 15 years old , he was on his way to perform shootout inside Israel , and the cab was on his way to city Casba , when he supposed to pick up his friend , then drive throw Semoronite naighborhood and to perform the shootout there inside Israeli settlement . He carried his weapon in Gitara pad ,to make it conseal , and we called him "Gitarist" . When he saw us , he was so uptite so he decided to act , and by miracle i must add , trully natural mirracle from the sky no one was killed . That was 14-15 years old boy that his only crime was that he borned in wrong place , and learned the wrong stuff .
Now this is a story about 40 kids in Rafah , that recieved some money to throw pipe charges on IDF soldiers (They recieved 5 shekel , that is a bit more then a dollar . That's just rip off ) . All this 40 kids have something incommon , they all lack hands now ...

This is interview from Abu-Mazen , that critisize that insane act , to Saudi newspaper .So , it's not rare . It's just insane .
Maybe he needs to be reminded why these territories were "occupied" in the first place?
to build settlements?

That's the Israeli newspapers. Foreign newspapers are also reporting.

You have mentioned this episode before. But I guess he was firing at you, not the ambulance.

Suicide bombs have been used many times to take out personel in uniform so its not just a weapon of terror. Actually very rarely (and certainly not many times!! ) have those homicide bombers targeted people in uniform….A clear majority of those homicide attacks, are targeted and occur in civilian cities aimed mostly at civilian Man, women and children, be it on busses or in restaurants or in hotels or in discos or etc….
