Which is your favourite brand, and give a reason why?
So far mine is Markwort, however I do need to buy my own and need some suggestions. :)

Be sure you get a glove with a small pocket so you can get the ball out fast.

Rawlings always did fine by me.

I bought a Heritage Series a couple years ago just for the hell of it. It was the only good looking glove that still came in the old school camel color. Everyone has balck or dark brown gloves now, I cant stand that. Its a tweleve inch but its hard to find anything smaller these days in the stores. Since I played short and second(sometimes third) Im used to a ten 'n a half inch glove, eleven at the most.

I also have an old Rawlings catchers mitt, eveyone should have a catchers mitt.

I had a nice Mizuno growing up that was my my best glove. I keep meaning to donate it but its still so nice.

Those Nokona's look extremely nice but I cant justify throwing down $250 for a weekend glove. Those Buffalo hide gloves they make dont even need to be broken in, they are butter soft. I think they even have Kangaroo skin gloves too. If you got the flow I would reccomend one of these but you will probably hear it from your team. http://www.nokona.com/

I actually just got a nice aluminum bat from a guy who had a bunch of them. Its a TPX Response, I got it for $40, it retails for around $250 so I had to grab it even though I like wood much more. Every once and awhile it pays to be a cop.

The pickings are fairly thin these days at the stores. You most likely wont find anything but gold gloves and the like, and you wont find your size. If you can get it on the net w here you can find the size and style you want.

I appreciate the reply, and thanks for the tips.

One problem I face is that I am an expat living in the middle-east so finding a decent shop that sells gloves may be a challenge. So ordering off the internet may have to be my choice.

Those Nokona Buffalo gloves sound like something to invest in.
Something soft and durable is what I need.

My Markwort has lasted me and my father, so it's had its good times.
It's just getting too soft and needs re lacing.

Thanks again.

I just wanted to chime in and tell you that I own a Nokona glove. I played 3rd or right field mostly (good arm) and it was the sweetest glove I ever bought. I played about 60 games with it and then put it away in storage. It certainly was butter soft with good form right off the rack and I didn't regret buying it.

ah, i haven't played baseball in about two years...this thread is making me nostalgic. I was never any good, but still enjoyed playing. Still remember playing t-ball as a little tike....good times Got my glove (rawlings) still sitting on my dresser, feels good just slipping it on my hand. Man, i really want to go throw a ball around now.

My dad bought me a Wilson glove when i was 8. And it was way too big for me at the time, but i was short stop so it worked out. Ive had the glove ever since and its still in perfect shape. Ive only had to re-string it once.
