Gents,
Having been in personal touch with one of the German PSD members from the article posted, based on the facts presented to me by him,I'm completely satisfied, there was no "exageration"......or bull**** to their story, infact the story doesn't credit them enough for their actions on that day......and I would personaly like to offer my apologies for not believing the version of events....in the belief they were distorting the truth
I will not be making the facts presented to me by Norman public........so don't ask!!
Hey...
Interesting. That's what i call first hand information. :)

So we finally have a confirmation.
Calms me down a little. I was about to lose my faith in German journalism since the WDR (the TV-channel) unlike the "Stern" is not known to send stories which are not well investigated.

No I believe a German forum member emailed them,to point them to me ;)
eh macs?;)
Actually Norman seems like a very nice bloke.....and the ambush compised of an L shape, then a rolling ambush involving a lot of vehicles.......the TTP he sent was very good and detailed.....and lessons can be learned from it.

I should offer up my apologies as well, since I was one of the people stabbing at them too.
So
Bitte um entschuldigung für meine unhöffliche aussagen.

Even though i don't understand why he allows the press and TV to show his family and unveil his residence together with his family name. Extremist live everywhere, not only in iraq.

Interesting. To be honest, my bullsh!t-o-meter was very high.
Is Norman the big fella with the flesh-cap? (at least he looked kinda big on TV).

Yes that's him. He also took a bullet to his face and has a scar next to his nose. (see: pdf in my previous post)

@Argyll:
Nice touch, that you are that upfront about one mistake of yours.
I wish that would be more common among folks.
Kudos!

They were promoting their business,so the TV program and the magazine article kind of manipulated some parts, missed out others, and it made the guys look a bit OTT......Norman responed to a list of questions I asked in a private email in a very proffesional manner, didn't make any fuss, didn't lose his cool, and gave me answers, for the best part of what I asked
Given the nature of the ambush they encountered,I seen where they got their Walls of Steel monicker from, the details presented to be honest gave a different impression from the magazine, and subsequent TV interview of the accounts that day...........so I doft my cap to Alpha team!

Well this was an interesting turn of events. Personally I didn't percieve the TV documentary as far fetched, no glory-hunting in my optics.

Yes the movie was a lot less dramatic than the article itself.

Thats a t-shirt they sell at the PX. I got one myself.
I respect Argylls point of view on this, but im finding it hard to get over a few things like they guys saying they were snipers in colombia and worked all the places they said. Also the tattoo on the chest is a little out there.

Theese guys are using pics on their website that arent theirs. I recon some of the pics is from a swede that served abroad with an artctic warfare sniper rifle.
edit: how very typical of this thread this is. The pics were on the front page. But now later that i browsed the site they write and post pics of other ppl like the marines.... should maybe checked out the entire site before posting.
