TKS with polish 20 mm FK wz.38 automatic cannon. Hardcore tank killer. Small, mobile and very powerfull. On September 19, 1939, Sergeant Roman Orlik knocked out 7 German PzKpfw 35(t)s with his TKS. He couldn't destroy more because he run out of ammo.

Great armour for a brave army... Its a pitty that Poland and Czechoslovakia and France didn°t fight Germany in 1939 side by side, it could be a short war...

I was not a shame, because we were not allies. Our relations were not friendly at that time and NONE of the sides wanted to cooperate.

@Svätopluk:
The Poles cooperated more with the Germans during the Czech crisis and annexed a bit of it themselves.
Besides...you are Slovak right? Hmmm, most of your people weren't so fond of the state of "Czechoslovakia" themselves, if I am not mistaken.
But as far as the hypothetical "short war" is concerned it would have been enough if the Poles would have managed to cooperate with the French. If France had attacked while the Polish campaign was going on Germany would have been lost. Actually, had the French attacked in October 1939, after Poland had been conquered, Germany would have been lost, too...because the Wehrmachts ammunition stocks were completely depleted. That badly was Germany prepared for a war.
:P

That's damn right Kitsune! Polish allies did not response when they should.
It was the right time to end this war quickly. Hitler was a player and he was just lucky.
It should be lesson for all of us

It's not a TKS but TK-3 prototype with 20mm FK wz.1938 gun.

This is wz.28, not wz.34

Thanks for the pics...

It is not TK-3. Look on gun mount. It is TKS. In TK-3 front of the "turret" was one line. In TKS gun mount was poked out/salient (is it good word?).

Yes, gun mount isn't one line because, this is prototype ...
Thanks for PM. I didn't know that it is TK-3. I heard about one TK-3 with wz.38 but I didn't know that any photos of this vehicle still exist and all descriptions of that photo were "TKS".
So my apology.

According to Leszek Komuda ,,Przeciwpancerne tankietki (2)" in ,,Militaria wol.1 no.4", there were 16 TK-3 rearmed with 20mm wz. 1938 cannon.

The Poles might have also fared better without a two front war...

...we have a "WWII Polish armour" topic here, and you know this T-34 tank wasn't at production at this moment Polish Army fought with the Germans in September '39 (wasn't Polsish tank neither, you know it :| ). And we have our tanks (see photos), some of them was better then Germans armour, but not so numerous, unfortunately. Those 4 guys fought on this Russian T-34 which had its 'premiere' in 1942. Poland didn't exist on the map of Europe at this time... :-(

wow, the poles really loved the tankettes, which were useful in their own right but no match for a full blown tank. that 2 turret design is pretty interesting, it kinda reminds of the t-35 (what a beast that thing was :) )
