Did anybody watch this program on the history channel about an worse case scenario of a avian influenza pandemic. That would kill up two hundred million people world wide, and between and 1.8 million americans. And would lead to an
collapse of the globale economy .

well I would imagin that would happen * IF * governments underestimated the seriousness of a Pandemic, which they dont seem to be doing for ex: Canada is making sure they have enough stockpiles to take care of any spread befor it gets too serious.

The more dilligent our governments are about containing and preventing the spread of such a virus, the better the chances are we can minimise how many people become ill in the first place, much less die.

whats scary is that here in the us only 1% of the population would be able to get tamiflu in the event of an pandemic outbreak of avian flu.And If there was ever an pandemic on the scale of the Spanish Flu Pandemic, we would be totally unprepared and unable to deal with such an event.

There's a reason why it's called the worst case scenario, as opposed to realistic scenario.
