5.56mm CZW 556 assault rifle

http://www.avia-tech.net/imageview.php?imageId=203

An assault riffle CZW 556 is an individual weapon. It is assigned to the use in the army, at police and at other law enforcement troops. That is a simple, light, compact, but very effective weapon, assigned to destroy the live forces. The weapon is able to shot in an automatic or semiautomatic mode. The length of the burst is limited by the magazine capacity and by the time of switching the trigger by the shift setting in the position “AUT”. The new design of the locking mechanism enables aiming during shooting long bursts and therefore the battle value of the weapon increases very strong. The weapon can be equipped with mechanical aiming devices (sights or dioptric device). It is possible to equip the weapon by different types of day or night aiming devices. These devices are adopted on the clam, which is a part of the weapons cover. The weapon has a unit design with high uniform details, which enables a simple reconstruction of the weapon in other types (a short version, machine gun a weapon with a tipped but). The design of this weapon is a base for a weapon family for different types of cartridges.

http://www.avia-tech.net/imageview.php?imageId=200

The assault riffle CZW 762 is a personal automatic weapon. It is a modified variant of the famous Soviet assault rifle AK-74. It’s designed to be used by the army, the police and other law enforcement troops. The use of new patented lock mechanism made this powerful weapon simpler and easier to operate. Also, I don't think the little neighbour needs any help, since the Czechs have been exporting excellent small arms all over the world for almost 100 years.

Some more information about manufacturer.
The corporation CZECH WEAPONS s.r.o. (http://www.avia-tech.net/topics.php?aTopicId=1&apPage=1) – was founded in 1998 (...). It is engaged in the activities connected with developing of small weapons.

History: from the foundation time the corporation was exclusively engaged in developing activities of a family of military small weapons, which design is based on the application of the innovation. No. 283180 / Locking mechanism of small fire weapon or of a great caliber weapon – Office of industrial propriety, Prague, Czech Republic.Till the last the corporation has developed an experimental kid of military small fire weapons designed for the cartridges: 9 x 19 Luger, 9 x 18 Browning, 5.56 x 45 NATO, 12.7 x 108, grenade of the caliber 30 mm – VOG 17.

The design of individual weapon types is so unified and adaptive, that it is possible after smaller arrangements make the weapons able to shot other, by the dimensions similar cartridges. All weapons of this family are able to shot in a semiautomatic or in an automatic mode. The main aim of the developing works was testing the possibility of the use of the innovated locking mechanism in small fire weapons in a large extent of muzzle performances. (from 400 J to 14000 J). For this purposes the design of the prototypes was proposed.

The properties of the weapons family:
- A high unification of all weapons parts, a high heredity and easy replacement of details.
- A simple design, relatively small number of details, which can be produced on basic metal machine equipment and also by help of modern performance technologies, as pressing and forming metal sheets, casting metals in forms, injecting of plastics, use of computer controlled machines a.s.o. Extraordinary simple and easy is the assembling of all design details including the assembling off full weapons complete . A low production and assembling quantity of work investing makes possible to produce any type of the weapons family very efficiency. All used materials are convenient, they is no problem to buy this materials on the market and that is also possible to replace this materials by other sorts of materials.
- All members of the weapons family are extraordinary light and have a high performance. For example the 30 mm automatic grenade launcher which weights 11.7 kg is able to shot in an automatic mode the grenades weighting 0.285 kg on the distance of 17890 m with a rate of fire 350 to 400 shots per minute. The innovated locking mechanism eliminates the great recoil effect in such a manner, that it is possible to shot as standing or from the hip as on the march.
- A low recoil effect enables a very effective shooting in the mode of short bursts on the targets in greater distances. The battle efficiency is in comparison with similar weapons much greater, maybe the same but the effect is reached with smaller quantity of grenades in a smaller time interval and by smaller fatigue of the fireman.
- A simple maintenance and attendance makes minimal demands on the firemen training.
- The weapons fulfill all strong demands on safety manipulation, mechanical resistance also in difficult climatic conditions, on the reliability and on the lifetime.

BTW - the whole Czech rifle family was designed about 10-20 years ago under name B-10 (assault rifle), B-20 (battle rifle), B-30 (sniper rifle) and the B-40 (grenade launcher). Versions of the B-10 were also designed also in 5.56mmx45 NATO and 9mmx19 Parabellum.

very nice post remov,

i have one question, the black furniture on the AK-74 variant is same as the furniture that was introduced into service on AK-74M during late 80's in Russia,
http://www.rusmilitary.com/images/ak74m_handguards.jpghttp://www.rusmilitary.com/images/ak-grip.gif
http://www.rusmilitary.com/images/7.62_saiga.jpg
the same furniture has been produced by Bulgarian ARSENAL, Romanians ...etc. for some time now. It is the exact copy of Russian furniture made by IZMASH, i am wondering when did these countries (including ex-Cezhoslovakia) start producing this furniture (early to mid 90's i presume) ??? It's also interesting to see that they also copied (licenced copy i presume??) the M series (later known as 100 series, for export purposes at least) IZMASH bayonet

this kedr-like SMG is a part of larger family consisting of this SMG, longer police SMG, selfloading/automatic carbines, PDW in new calibre, assault rifle and these strenge things like GLS etc... So that external similarity to Kedr SMG is just a co-incidence... and... have you ever heard about czech weapon designer copying another designs??

these guns were design by a small company not by manufacturer of The Skorpion. (Correct czech name: Škorpion) I even dont think that it will ever go to mass production...
