Watching IMDB and noticed U.S 3 in production.

The first was almost fantastic flick, second crap but the new plot sounds well.. here it is: Casey Ryback is sent on a mission to take out Muslim terrorists who have taken over a flight from Israel to USA.

Casey Ryback is sent on a mission to take out Muslim terrorists who have taken over a flight from Israel to USA.It be more plausible to see it taken over from a flight from the U.S. to Israel....as California Joe would say... “just saying”.......(ahh the movies and their fiction ;) )

Anyways, I like Steven Segall...well his movies suck (not all but most), but as one of the few real Jewish "hardasses" in North America or on Hollywood screens, Ill ignore his choices for some of his film roles...exceptions can be made ;)

Anyways thanks for the post, ill keep an eye for this film.

Sorry guys - the best bit was still the girl popping out of the cake - her dimensions were much more of interest than Segall's.

Who said he was jewish? he grew up christian or catholic I believe!

TP I hope I didn’t shatter any of your awe of him that he might be Jewish ;) :D

Ok I tried to look it up and its hard to find what religion he is from…I mean I found a website that simply said he was Jewish. I found another one that said his father was Jewish (which acc. To Jewish law, he is not)……… so there is something to what I said.

Anyways I always thought he was Jewish based on what I heard in the past (but from where I heard that I cant remember) so to me he is still one of the few Jewish “hardasses” in north America, till proven other wise, even if he is a practicing Buddhist now (which there are lots of Jews that “convert” or simply practice other faiths….so that doesn’t say anything)

F*cking IDF even argues about movies.... ;)

It's "just sayin" mate.

gees Cali, no need to get any cussing in there…..just sayin ;)

Boy the hostility mate ;)

Anyways I wasn’t arguing there (sorry to disappoint you ;) ) I was just giving over some friendly advice on how to make the film a bit more believable…I mean its obvious that the films directors come on this forum for advice all the time ;) ……….I am just here to help out :D

Steven Segall is a Buddhist.

A master of several Japanese martial arts, Steven Seagal is a popular action movie hero whose films combine spiritual concepts and social/environmental consciousness with high-voltage violence. Born in Lansing, Michigan on April 10, 1951, Seagal traveled to Japan at the age of seventeen. There, he taught English, studied Zen, and perfected his martial arts Aikido, Karate, Judo, and Kendo. Afterwards, he became the first Westerner to open a martial arts school in Japan.

During this time, Seagal occasionally choreographed fight scenes in movies and coached such stars as Sean Connery and Toshiro Mifune. He also became interested in Eastern religion: in a November, 1997 interview for the Shambala Sun, he stated that his encounter with Tibetan Buddhism resulted from his study of acupuncture. According to Seagal, several ailing Tibetan lamas, suffering from malnutrition, exhaustion, and the effects of Chinese torture, were sent to him for treatment, which led him to become a director of secret security operations and to set up special safe houses.

Seagal spent about 15 years in Asia before returning to the States, where he opened a new martial arts academy and also worked as a celebrity bodyguard. His clients included his future (now ex-) wife Kelly Le Brock and Hollywood agent Michael Ovitz. With help from Ovitz, Seagal contracted to make martial arts films for Warner Bros. For his first film, he and cinematographer-turned-director Andrew Davis carefully refashioned an average police drama into Above the Law (1988), which stressed characterization and plot as well as high-energy action scenes. It was well-received and Seagal found himself an instant star among action aficionados. His next film, Hard to Kill (1989), overflowed with chop-socky violence, casting him as a cop who wakens from a coma and sets out for revenge against those who sent him to the hospital. Seagal attracted mainstream appeal in 1992 when he starred in the Davis-directed hit Under Siege, his most popular movie. In 1994, he made his directorial debut with the environmentally conscious but critically panned On Deadly Ground, in which he single-handedly attempts to save Alaska and the Eskimos from an avaricious oil tycoon.

In 1997, Seagal publicly announced that one of his prime Buddhist teachers, His Holiness Penor Rinpoche, had proclaimed him a tulku, the reincarnation of a Buddhist lama. Seagal's announcement met with some cynicism, but Penor Rinpoche backed him up with a formal statement at Colorado's Naropa Institute. In subsequent interviews, Seagal has presented himself as a serious student of Buddhism who spends many hours meditating, studying, and practicing the tenets to help him become a teacher and healer.

Unless I'm extremely mistaken...the man was never Jewish!!!

To Seiyuuki

Listen, again whether he practices Buddhism or not has no bearing on anything…there are Jews that practice that faith.

Again I found that site and I found others. What was hard to find was what faith he was born into. Meaning what were his parents faiths. I found one site that had his father Jewish (which yes that means he is not) and I found another site which simply said he was Jewish.

I am not sure on it……….however what you brought down doesn’t tell me anything. It simply insinuates that he now practices Buddhism.

Anyways if you want him that bad, then fine you can have him ;) (I never liked some of his movies anyways ;) ).

Well my brother went to taekwondo many many years ago and some of the teachers knew 20-22years old people in states, who had obtained 2nd dan black belt!!! How is that possible? Back here they have very strick rules how old you must be and you must have many years of training with brown belt before you can even try black belt.
Do you just pay the dojo owner 50bucks and he does the paper work!

COMMENTS!!!!

BTW taekwondo sucks, Kick-Boxing and Krav Maga rulez!!!!!
