There seems to be some great confusion in the Australian photos section whenever anybody see's a Canadian made scope on an Aussie weapon.
This leads to many un/misinformed persons stating that the Australian Defence Force Special Forces issue the Diemaco version supposedly like the UK SAS.
Nothing could be further from the truth so I'm here to clear a few things up.
The Australian Defence Force issues several types of scopes to different units for different reasons and purposes.
eg: Almost every Infantry section will have at least one F88A1 (Steyr AUG with pictinny rail) with an Elcan scope. (This obviously doesn't mean the Steyr is Canadina made now does it people? rofl )
The SASR, 4RAR (Commando) and Navy CDT units all issue the M4.... the US Colt made and US DD supplied M4.... NOT the Diemaco C8 etc.
So, to make it real simple, the contract to supply the ADF with the
M-4 is with the US Defence Department.
They are M4's, not Diemaco C8's etc etc etc. Got it? Good.
The M203's are also the M203PI (Product Improved) varient specifically modified to retain accuracy and better moutning when fitted to the F88-A1 and the M-4 series. Also bought from the US.
