Annotation for the confused: "You" = Bush and his supporters; "that piece of **** flag" = the United States flag; "They" = the 9/11 attackers; "We" = America; " 'em " = downtrodden peoples of the world. Got it?

Why?.............
With all due respect, dip****s who just joined and are already spouting-off are the problem.
And in related news, had this forum not been moved to new software I would have just recieved my fifth star. I feel slighted.

STFU with threads like these. You need these people! They bring the balance in life. Without them presidents and prime ministers would run wild.

Translation:
Mr President - Boudewijn de Groot
Mister President, Goodnight.
Sweet dreams in your great White house.
Don’t think too much about all the distant shores
Where your boys are, lonely, far from home.
Don’t think about the 46 dead,
That slip-up on the last bombardment.
And don’t forget the 4th of the 10 commands
Which you’ll know as a good Christian.
Don’t think about all the frontline soldiers
Dying lonely in the far tropical night.
Let the feeble pacifists talk,
Mister president, sleep tight.
Dream about victory and glory,
Dream about your nice peace idealism
Which has never been achieved by bloody killings,
Dream that you’ll obtain it this time.
Don’t think about all those people in agony,
how many women and children that have been murdered.
Dream that you’ll be pulling the longest straw
And don’t believe a word of all the resistance.
Bayonets with bloody hilts
are standing guard far away, awaiting your command
for the glory and honour of the free West.
Mister president, sleep tight.
Don’t be too scared when in your dreams
you’ll see all the innocent victims
that have died in combat
and who are asking you how long this will go on.
You’ll know by now
that there are people sick of all this violence
who won’t forget the blood and misery
and for whom a human life still counts.
Don’t dream too much about all these dead,
have sweet dreams about victory and power.
Don’t think about all the peace wishes,
Mister President, sweet dreams.
Although the song is at least 15/20 yrs old it's 100% applicable to Bush
Any (Dutch) people who stand open to hearing the actual song PM me and Ill send it to your mail

I gotta disagree. You think this actually sways voters against the war? It's like Cindy Sheehan. In the beginning, she got the sympathy of Americans. When she started spouting off about the "Zionist conspiracy" and other crap, most people just started to ignore her.
Is intelligent, logical political opposition useful? Yes.
Is conspiratorial, irrational political opposition useful? Yes, to those in power.

It goed deeper than that. It is not so much the intellectual capacity of demonstrators but the message they are carrying. Not the ones written on their cardboard. But one which is identical to every protest: that the government cannot act the way they please without consequences.
Anti war protest does not accomplish its goal - just look at the biggest demonstrations over the whole world which started five years ago. It did not stop the war but does show that people disagree and do not want war.

I went to the initial Seattle protest in September as an observer. There were many normal families and students and I enjoyed talk with many of them there but it was also a platform of the World Can't Wait movement set to take place on the 2nd of November. I had high hopes at first but it didn't take long to realize the radicals had stollen the voices of the rest of the people there. Its sad really, it stifles any honest outcry.

The great thing about free speech is it allows you to spot the morons in the crowd. Sometimes the crowd is comprised of nothing but morons. That crowd is more of a herd really, and their speech sounds like baaah baaah.

Yes yes, supporting the bill of rights obviously means you support the war in Iraq. Conversely it is obvious that if you do not support the bill of rights, you do not support the war.
Its all so clear now.
Just one little question before we make any more asinine assumptions - where did the right to bear arms come into discussion during this thread?

Where can I get a "STOP BUSH" T-shirt?
Just don't know...do these people know they are not only marginalizing themselves, but completely obliterating any standing they have with people that really matter?
I just can't see that they don't. It is quite obvious.
