82nd Airborne

I have a friend in the 82nd Airbore right now and his family doesn’t know where he is. I called and asked if they knew and they asked if I could help them find out where he's at. Since this site posts pictures about units around the world I was wondering if anyone knew where the division was? If you know or have an idea that would be helpful. Thanks.

Well there's a relatively small detachment of the 82nd in Iraq, but there's a much larger group of them in Afghanistan. Most of the general searching of weapons caches have been by the 82nd. Do they know if he's in Iraq or Afghanistan?

If your friend's family members want to know about their loved ones unit, they should contact the Public Affairs Office at the 82nd Abn Div website. As a rule deployed personnel cannot give away info on ETA, ETD, or Location. Although their location is publically known, l'll tell you right now nobody at that office or any responsible member of the military will give you that info.

They know that he was deployed to the middle east but thats about it. He thought that he was going to Kuwait and then Iraq but there has been no media coverage to confirm that. Thanks for the replies.

Well, these are of 82nd in Iraq, so they are confirmed to be there if that helps at all.
