neat stuff there!

but being an ex-TC I find it strange on the vid from the finish live firing exercise that they didn't take more advantage og the terrain. instead of driving past the top of the mound, thus exposing the whole tank, I'd really prefer to stay in a hull-down position and slip down and out of view from the "enemy" to change positions. It was a little steep that mound though, so hopefully they did what they did because the inclination exceeded the max plonge of the main gun.

It was a little steep that mound though, so hopefully they did what they did because the inclination exceeded the max plonge of the main gun. If that firing range follows the same pattern as others I've seen, the targets are in a sort of valley, lower than the tanks. Hence, it would be probably be impossible to shoot from hull-down. :) And let's not forget that this video is from the Army Demo Day, an event dedicaded for the press ;)

Roger that! ;) Really easy to watch from the side-line and make smart comments like I did... Remember from my days in the hatch when we the whole platoon attacking (live firing exercise).. in my mind things were happening fast and I had my hands full, but when I watched it later on video it really seemed to be a no-stress sunday walk.. Unfortunately I have that only on VHS, unless you'd see how Norwegians handle the Leo1A5 ;)

hm, I'm afraid not :( So far it's only the professional guys/Telemark Battalion using the Leo2 on a daily basis. Since they are part of the norwegian force contributing in ISAF they may not be too keen on sharing info about how they train and such. All I know is that a lot of info is classified.
