I haven't seen any threads lately from Iraq with Photos or Articles about US Army Rangers. With that being said do Rangers carry Side Arms like Special Operation Soldiers do, I know they train exclusively on the M9(at least thats what I read)? thanks
Rangers aren't quite as "special" as some other special forces.. they dont get the crazy latitude SF gets in weapons and gear... prety sure they are all M9s....but i'm just an airsoft pouge and could be 100% wrong.
The reason why you don't hear much about them an see pictures is most likely due to OPSEC.
The weapons they get, are basically the same you will find in any infantry unit. They are not special forces, more of an specialized light infantry unit, that also supports some SF/SO units.
Also, not everyone carries a sidearm.
If you want to find out more about the Rangers, post in the 75th Ranger Reg't forum on SOCNET, I'm sure they'd love to answer your questions an post pics.

I saw the Rangers shooting USP 9mm at the Best Ranger Comp. And by "saw" I mean on tv.

More than likely they use the M9..
Rangers are the diet coke of SpecOps..Not quite SF..but trained in some forms of unconventional warfare
(that'd be great if the Army changed over to the USP for it's sidearm)
