Thanks, according to my info, it is now most potent SPAAG... It can destroy such small objects like 122 mm rockets by normal ammunition, non-programmable like AHEAD...

yep it can even destroy 122mm artilery amunition but it uses very high tech amunition, i don't have my bookshelf with me so i cant tell you more, but now it is the best SPAAG on the market.

Mission and General Description
The LOARA-G integrated self-propelled antiaircraft gun system is designed for destroying attack aircraft (fixed wing aircraft, helicopters, cruising missiles, UAVs) flying at very low, low and medium altitudes. It can also engage light armoured ground and sea-surface targets. The LOARA-G is an autonomous fire unit capable of performing its tasks independently or when inter-operating within an air defence system. The 3D search radar, which can operate on the move, ensures early and precise target acquisition and identification 'friend or foe', while renewing its data every second. This, together with the dynamic drives of the turret, guns and the tracking sensor head, enables to achieve the reaction time of the system below 10 seconds.
The armoured turret incorporates multiple state-of-the-art sensors that enable to acquire and engage air targets flying at speeds of up to 500 m/s.
The two 35 mm guns provide effective fire range up to 5000 m.
The variety of fire control sensors (tracking radar, FLIR camera, TV camera, laser range-finder) makes the LOARA-G effective in any weather conditions, day and night.
The fully automated command and fire control functions can make use of either data acquired with the on-board sensors or received wireless from a higher command level or neighbouring units. The use of target data from external sources gives the LOARA-G the capability of engaging targets with only opto-electronic sensors, without radiating microwave energy by the search radar and thus disclosing its present position. Such stealthy operation is most advantageous in terms of combat efficiency and survivability. The use of a tracking radar featuring low probability of intercept (LPI) is another important factor in stealthy operation. Moreover, target tracking with entirely passive sensors is possible - with the tracking radar not radiating. During stealthy operation, all the equipment is battery operated, so that the Diesel generator, as a source of thermal radiation, can be switched off.
The LORA-G is based on a modernised PT-91 tank chassis, which ensures high automotive performances in any terrain conditions. A modern land navigation system, using laser gyros and integrated with a GPS receiver, is built into the vehicle, so the current vehicle's position is exactly known any time, which is a fundamental capacity when joint operations with other units in the command & control process are concerned.

Currently- 4 :cantbeli:
But maybe the new MoND staff will change the plans...

Nope, Loara is a pure artillery system (the development of the SAM version was abandoned). But we are going to have Groms installed on the upgraded Shilkas (ZSU-23-2MP)

the reason I asked is because I know that the Gepard has Stinger missles on it. I think it's better if you have both artillery and rockets, just give it more kick and range.

Only 4! Wow that is pretty bad, hopefully we'll get more. I love it how the military likes to buy things in single digits like the Krab.

look we have much bigger economical targets than military so our military budget is tight like virgin's ass dont expect us to buy new toys when we have 18% unemployement. when we will get better with our economics our military will get more new stuff.
