Is it based upon the CV 90 'cos it looks remarkably similar? Anyhow countires would probably prefer an off the shelf CV 90 as it appears to be more versatile.

The Spartan and the Scorpion were out a long time before the deployment of the CV90. Totally different machine entirely.

Whatever happened to the OTO-IMI HVMS? It seemed like it only turned heads in South America as a cheap way to increase firepower. Seemed like a good idea to me.

well the diesel engine should be an improvement cuz Belgian Army has petrol engine and it sucks, they go over 120 Km an hour though.

Isn't the engine about 40 years old now in those vehicles? Scary to think how fast an unrestricted modern engine could make them go

The upgrade programme is effectively dead as we ran out of money when our prime customer chose a different supplier. The technology is on the shelf but nothing has happened to it for the last few years.
