Isn't Delta an exact copy of SAS? Delta is basically America's "SAS" right? Because I read about the selection process and all the squadrons, it's just like the SAS.

Based on the same concept, squadron Structures etc, after Charlie Beckwith returned from a tour with 22 SAS in the 60's.
Maybe in the early days somewhat the same, but quite different these days in terms of main roles each unit plays

similar? yes? specialties may differ and as argyll pointed out how there used aka by country and politics and chain of command effects what they do. theres probably alot not in the books that cover the in depth training (electronics, sabatoge, infiltration etc) that the books hint about but usually cant talk about like the standard things of doing pushups, or various enviormental training. physical and mental selection process is just but the begining?

feel free to beat me if i spoke poorly.

which part?

edit: lemme use a different analogy.
two business. intel, amd. both make chips. both have management. both compete in a same market. yet each caters and makes bigger deals with markets they think will benefit them more. each company use thier products in a number of different ways to, gain advantages, move thier product, and portray a certain image to the public, stockholders, and huge buyers.

you read a bunch of books that describe a similar base aka were in the same "business" but how that base is built and how it is trained "in depth" in unknown to you. specially cross countries.

are US marines identical to british and russian marine type forces? no. why? just because you base off a similar foundation and or borrow good ideas from another doesnt mean your the same.

video game. same goal, same market, same budget =same game? no. similar. yes.

?see?
