Maybe it didnīt become anything of the project?

Their new attack helicopter "rumor" is called the WZ10, but the info I get
so far are just bunch of photoshoped pictures of Rooivalk and Tiger attack
helos, and apparently the PLA used the footage of Rooivalk(or tiger) in
the PLA Army aviation corps video for propaganda purpose. Don't forget
that the EU weapon sales ban to China still holds as of this time, so it is
impossible for China to get a hold of EU advanced military technology.

Their current attack helo is the WZ9, a AS365N Dauphin II(civilian version
of the AS565 Panther) converted for battlefield recon and anti-tank role.
Strictly speaking it is less efficient as an attack helo compared with
other "professional" attack helos such as AH-64, AH-1W, Tiger and
Rooivalk.

Ghostwolf,

Or should have i writen AirForces Monthly ;)

That magazine is one of the best military aviation magazines on this planet, and is directed at professional people and such, its not kids mag, and theres no photoshopped pics in it..

Oh, that WZ10 is there yeah, guess I missed it. But the chinese are good
at keeping the lid on their projects, just look at the J-10 that "popped up
from nowhere".

http://www.sinodefence.com/airforce/aircraft/fighter/j10_8.jpg

http://www.sinodefence.com/airforce/aircraft/fighter/j10_5.jpg
And it seems to be advanced with off-bore helmet sights etc

I donīt think the "know-how" would be any problems for the chinese if
they wanted to build a couple of Rooivalks, perhaps South Africa would
allow them and if not they probably have the blueprints anyway and make
their own design based on it. Wouldnīt surprise me if the chinese came up
with some "cheap mans" Apache that they would sell to Pakistan and other
third world countries.

Oh the J-10. J-10 photos have been circulating around since May-June
2003, so it is not that secretive anymore. I wonder what NATO codename
will J-10 gets?

I just registered but until I receive the confirmation e-mail, I cannot
access the photo galleries. If you do see the WZ10 photo(not conceptual
drawings but actual aircraft), post them here so we can see them please.

Exactly, and during the development almost nothing was knew or heard
off, when it was ready (2003) they took the lid off. So who knows, they
might be in the process to build their own Chicom Roivaalk without us
knowing it. And itīs probably a much smaller project than the J-10 that
is easier to keep a secret.

Designation for J-10. Now when itīs not cold war anymore they should
almost have public contests over new names :) I would suggest something
like the Lavi, but something in chinese of course.

Are you referring to the 1999 military parade clip? I was hoping to see
their military hardwares moving across the square, but the clip ended
in the middle.
