i am back and i am now a Cav Scout

I just got back from 16 weeks of training at Fort Knox and am now on 10-day leave. I then move on to Fort Bliss, Texas and I will be with the 4th Brigade, 1st Cavalry Division. I got to mess around with the Bradley fighting vehicle, javelin Anti-Tank, MK-19 (personal favorite), M2 50. Cal and the 25mm on the Bradley. There is plenty more I got to do just cant name it all now, its good to be back and best of all be a Cav Scout in the United States Army

Not so fast with the accolades. I mean how do we know that AUDIEM249 is really born again hard? We've all heard the stories about how the Army fell way short of it's recruitment goals for this year. For all we know AUDIEM249 is a real bumble f*** but because of the situation in Iraq this guy is getting promoted. Is that what's going on here?

hope you have an awsome time with 1st cav thank you everyone and i am getting a digital camera while on leave so i can have plenty of pics for all of you. i am very happy to be with the 1st Cav and i know i will be in good hands, we are set to go to the box sometime mid next year (details are still sketchy on that) i have a dvd video from my training i will see if i can somehow get some on here

i have a good friend in the CAV who is 11Bravo i forget what unit, hes going over to Iraq soon, maybe the same deployment. He just graduated too.

I think he's getting ready to graduate.. he goes to Airborne School next then it's off to Germany for him...there are two training battalions for cavalry at fort knox, 5-15 and 6-15. the next troop to graduate is gulf troop

It's 5/15... I what to say he's in Echo Troop... damn, I not sure... I need to go and dig out his letter... better yet, I need to write him again.. echo had its barracks right behind mine, i believe they were just about to hit week 9 and that would leave 7 left for them

Sounds kool... I never heard of any Cav Scouts going thru Airborne School.. in my day most of them were Mech. Is this still the case..?

for the most part yes, but we had about 15 people going to airborne school to be with airborne cav units in alaska, italy and hawaii. cav scouts are needed by everyone (makes me feel special)
