Dang it. My laser printer (a Lexmark E320) just got FUBAR. I flipped its switch on, and the lights flashed on and off, and then it just went dead. Cannot be revived. And it was only a year old.

My previous printer was a Hewlett-Packard. Darned reliable, and lasted five years. One problem: it had the worst paper feed system imaginable. It would ALWAYS grab multiple pages. Most HPs I've dealt with have this problem. That's why I bought a Lexmark instead of another HP to replace it.

I'm going to need to buy a new printer, and fast. Does anybody have suggestions on a reliable make and model? I just need it for home use, black-and-white and grayscale. Nothing fancy. I just don't want something that'll effing die every 12 months.

Never had any problems with my HP printer so far, and it's at least 3 years old now. My old Epson before that sucked big time though.

True...true...true..but they print...
so don't buy Epsons because they are "worst **** ever" prize winners in all imaginable categories.

I have an HP LaserJet 1200.(it's now the 1300) ...have printed over 10,000 pages without a glitch. HP does make a cheaper LJ model, I have no idea of it's reliability.

Yup, HP printers = the ****. Always hear other people whining how their Lexmark/Cannon/Epson ****ed up again, but never how an HP ****s up.

Oh, just saw it was about laser printers... well, same applies there, though another player comes to mind; Brother. You might want to take a look at their printers.

I've used an HP Laserjet 5MP for over 5 years with very few problems. Like 11F5S, it's had thousands of sheets through it with no glitches.

Used Brother Laser printers for printing many sheets of waterproof pallet labels never any problems, Avery waterproof labels are a pain in the arse at times but the Brother just churns them out without a glitch.

I have an EPSON too, but I've already had to have it replaced guarantee once but it works ok now.

I've had the same HP deskjet for years, and even though it's a bit slow and low-quality by today's standards, it's reliable as a railroad watch.
