55 confirmed dead, over 100 injured in car bombing at a police station in Iskandierya about 20 miles from Baghdad. High number of dead attributed to people lining up for work and applying for police positions. Pro-US tribal chief also escaped assassination while his 3 bodyguards are slightly injured.

I think the local forces would be much more effective in taking out an insurgent. They have much better intelligence, don't draw attention when operating, and most important of all they don't place such a high value on life as the U.S. Military does.

There are infiltrators. But the ones that avoid detection will likely fall in line with the new government as things get stablized. After all, they will have a salary and pension to keep.
