I'm looking to hear from people who have/had experience with the Samco RIS handguards (rifle length) and the Ace SOCOM stock. I'm thinking about getting both of these for my DPMS Dissipator.

I purchased the First Samco quad rail for my Bushy M4gery, shortly after recieving it I put it up on Ebay, purchased a Surefire M73 instead. Basically don't waste you're money ont he Samco, now the ACE Socom stock, it was top notch and the only reason I got rid of it was to go to a 6 position instead and fund some smith work.
ACE good, SAMCO bad.
Also I just found that the Surefire M82 will not fit on the Bushmaster Dissipator due to the the position of the shaved FSB for the gas port. I'm going to have to use something like Danial Defense or Samson FF rail instaed.

The SAMCO is alright. Some people love it. Got one for an M16A4, but I liked the issue KAC model much more.
I agree with Herr Geezah. I've got a Surefire RIS on my shotty, and they make fantastic RIS setups! And they are cheap!
How many good things can I say about the ACE socom? Many.
Its the most popular stock I sell for my receivers (see pics) and they take all the abuse of 7.62x51 even though they were designed for a 5.56x45 platform.

Thanks guys, that's good advice.
One thing that made me lean towards the Samco was ease of installation (I don't want to do any gunsmithing to install the RIS). Is this an issue with any of the other models you recommended?
Any suggestions about where to buy them (best prices)?

Surefire involves no smith work at all, just remove existing handguard and then out the Surefire in place and tighten up two screws with loctite.
Where to purchase, need to go to AR15.Coms Equipment Exchange, that's where I got mine, you don't really want to pay anymore than $160. Happy hunting.

You could just order one from Surefire.com. I think you would be looking for the M73 Forend. From Surefire it costs $195.

Thing is, you shoudln't have to pay over $160 when they are for sale pretty much all the time on AR15.Com.

I don't know..but 95% of the time,I prefer direct order from a business or a company..Such as Oakley or Surefire.
I bet I could find the same items cheaper..but that's my perogrative.
How does the ACE compare against say..The Crane or the Magpul?

They are all solid platforms. While you'd have to be working pretty hard to break a Magpul or Crane, You'd be working extra hard on the ACE. It is all metal construction and seems as though it would smash in a door (or skull for that matter) quite easily. In fact there is a coarse serrated area on the heel of the butt that I jokingly refer to as a "meat tenderizer". All three will work great, pick the one that you most like the looks of on your rifle.
