God forbid, you were KIA (Killed in Action) does someone from the military still go to your house to tell your parents/family or how do the families that lose sons and daughters in combat find out their child is gone?

1) may I suggest a different Screenname before some one less polite does.

1. Screenname changed. (why should that be changed?) cause I havent actually gotten my Ranger patch?
2. I was just thinking of it and I was curious if it still happened. (Do you know the set procedure?)

1.) very respectfull to those who earned it.
2.) Set procedures exist for many reasons. There are many procedures depending on several factors. In regards to KIA, the family will be notified, in person, by a uniformed serviceman (only extreme exceptions exist.)
Hope that answers your question.
