Your desire to help is very noble and deserves respect but you won't be able to go to Chechnya as a Russian Army soldier for several reasons:
#1Language barier
#2 Russian Army is only open to its citizens and citizens of CIS (most of the former soviet republics)
#3 Russian Army is done in Chechnya, it is MVD's (police) responsibility now.
Sorry

If you have a Ukranian passport you can serve on a contract. The term varies from 2 to 5 years. Do you speak/understand any russian at all? - that would be the biggest issue. If you are looking for some "action ", go join FFL.

American Foreign Legion anyone?
:D
American Foreign Legion to be Formed
WASHINGTON - The Bush Administration today announced plans to create an American Foreign Legion loosely modeled on the French Foreign Legion.
The idea came out of a recent cabinet level brainstorming session on how to put the best spin on President Bush's vow to send enough troops to Iraq to "do the job" and Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's assertion that we do not need to send in any more forces despite the military's near daily plea for additional help. Reportedly, the idea came from Treasury Secretary John Snow who, after not saying anything for a long period, blurted it out as a joke to get noticed. However, it was soon realized that an American Foreign Legion (AFL) would have several advantages including:
Large supply of desperate people worldwide willing to fight for a chance at freedom (there's nothing that free's one soul more than death).
An armed force operating outside of constitutional limits makes for kick-ass news reports.
Why put American soldiers into harms way when we can get expendable foreigners to do the dirty work?
Economical. It takes fifty AFL soldiers to equal the cost of one US soldier. These fantastic savings are achieved through elimination of medical supply overhead, no paid leave, no retirement, no funerals, and the likelyhood that the US will never have to pay these troops (we don't pay the dead...it's un-American).
"If the weasly little Frenchmen won't support the US, we'll hire our own foreigners. I like it!" thumped Vice President Cheney enthusiastically. Cheney was subsequently rushed to Walter Reed hospital for tranquilizer and nitroglycerin treatments.
Funding for AFL will come mostly from reallocation of foreign assistance funds designated for population control. "Rather than encouraging ***, condoms, abortion, and other deviant behaviors," the President stated, "we'll help control the population through traditional methods founded in our Judeo-Christian ethics. You know, kill thy enemy, that sort of thing."
(I guess its not real, but still funneh.. )

We have "American Foreign Legion" since the Revolutionary War because this country is make up of immigrants. There are probably ten of thousand green card immigrants serving in U.S. armed forces right now. I happen to know a dozen of them. Hell, my platoon sergeant just got his U.S. citizenship 3 months ago

probably tell you to go home. Be realistic.

What he ment was i think that he thinks that Russian Armed Forces lack discipline and he could then do whatever he liked in the Chechnya.. without any of that "military discipline crap"..

But i figure that you have all seen those vids of Russian NCOs beating the crap out of the recruits, just for laughs.. so i think that i wont have to explain this any futher..

How does organized army should look like? :)
Kid,
#1 Any large country's military is what a civilian would call "unorganized" and a lot of things/rules/policies do not make any sense to an outsider but somehow it all comes together and works in the end...
#2 Unless you have a CIS citezenship (former soviet republics) you won't be able to sign a contract.
#3 Army is done in Chechnya, so if you want to get there look at MVD.
#4 Are you sure you are tough enough? I don't mean just physically, I also mean mentally. Service in any military requires toughness and in Russia's case especially... Look at these pictures

At first I was questionning myself whether I should even comment here.
Listen, go do something else. Learn computers; date girls; watch movies; play games. Do you have even a slightest idea WHAT war is??
Blood, guts, dirt, constant hunger, death, ****ing smell of dead flesh. Have you ever heard the screams of a wounded person? Have you ever seen a guy stepping on his own intestines while in pain shock? Do you want to to drink water from dirty rivers and sewers? Do you want to crawl on snow and dirt, and later feel how the cold freezes your uniform? Do you want to wake up at night seeing faces of people who died next to you, or that you've killed?
This is just a small portion of what war is. There is nothing good in it.
You say you want to "help good"? :cantbeli:
Listen, when you're out there, you don't give a flying **** about "good", "freedom", "democracy", and other bull****! You only think about how to survive, and not let your comrades die, and go home (take a shower, have ***, get drunk), and forget this ****ing place.
As for your service in Russian army - impossible. If you really want to wear the uniform, go to Canadian army. Canadian army is very good and definitely worth serving at. Besides, it's your Homeland. I'm sure they'll make you a man, that you want to become.

I think the US or a international group of special operations and analyst teams should go to chechnya and asess the links between Chechen insurgents and Al Queda. The more we learn about this worldwide network of terror, the better we will be able to take them out. Right now we merely chopped off an arm of the beast. We need to be able to pull out the heart of the beast.

Whoever told you that going to some foreign country, participate in a war that you don't understand and kill people is a good thing to do? I mean, I can't believe that the ultimate answer for "With what can I do most good in the world?" is to kill people. Most of the russian regulars who did fight in chechnya (and survived) would beat the crap out of kids like you, that sit in their nice little homes and want to exchange that for a hole in the ground. You should think about how many didn't want to go to chechnya but had to.
You're maybe old enough when you realized that there is no good or bad in war, only different reasons.
Besides, before playing the loudmouth wanting to chechnya, how 'bout finding out what it is like to be a soldier first? You have no clue what that's like but already want to go to war. That's stupid. Join the canadian forces, then you can decide whether that's enough for you not.
