Here's some of the photos I took while on Tasman Reserve:

Looking over the Battalion Group OC's shoulder looking at the CSSG(Combat Services Support Group) compound as we are preparing to land after spending a couple days in the bush

This is the terrain my recce section was humping over and through

Riding in the back of an RNZAF Iriquois...better than any rollercoaster

An RNZAF SAR Helo extracting an injured mate in really bad weather...not a fun day

These are the guys who extracted by mate Cory in SH!T weather.....they may swagger around like they watched Topgun too many times, but they ARE badass....even if they are Air Force

The day after....weather improved in the morning...It never ceases to ame me how quickly weather can change in New Zealand from absolutely beautiful to very dangerous.

TESS gear being used by New Zealand Company....similiar to MILES

My recce section heading back out for another 3 days after resup....I was swapped out since I had to be back at work in 2 days......I got to play enemy force against the Aussies and the CP.

Me.......on the way back to camp to keep an Ozzie platoon and the CP up all night with Smoke Grenades and Thunderflashes......I need work on the cam....I look like a green Michelin Man.....like a training NCO once told me..."If you look good, you ARE good." I guess I need work.

maybe you have exceeded your bandwidth limit. Try sending the pics to Hood, he might be able to help you get some of those neat shots posted. Pretty keen to see some of the shots of your Lame-o cam job. :P Just jokes, dude.
Am in Kiwiland at the moment; Weather forecasters here might as well use a dartboard to help predict, it changes so frequently. Give me sunny Queensland any day of the week! (Ahhh, sweet Canungra, how I do miss you so... NOT!)

Tasman reserve is always a good excuse to scare the bejesus outta our ANZAC cousins. A mate of mine made sure to bring one of those cheap novelty rubber snakes from the $2 shop over with him when he went, and pulled it wriggling and jiggling outta the top flap of his Pack. (exaggerated hand wiggling motions, of course!) To quote my mate " Man, I never seen a Kiwi warrant officer come running over faster in my life! ("That's impossible! We don't have any snakes in New Zealand!") Ha Ha Ha. rofl
Contact drills on the soft fluffy peat grass beats the hell outta Eucalytptus scrub too, I am told. Much easier on the old elbows/knees. woot

Hope your buddy pulled through okay. At least he wasn't in some backwater **** hole with no adequate medical facilities.(read: Africa)
