Anyone use this stuff? I'm thinking about getting some of their ColdGear clothing.
(I live in Alaska..it's winter here..)

I use it and its great for drill in the desert. It just takes all the sweat and pulls it away from your body. Youll feel a lot more comfortable and have less rashes. Skivvy shirts with no showers for a couple of weeks is HELL.

It works good on physical activities, keeps you feeling dry. If I may recommend, get the loose gear rather than the normal athletic fit heat gear. Unless you know what the bodyhugging stuff feels like and you loves it. There are some mixed reviews as to weather the cold gear is best in cold weather. Just to get you all confused ;)

Also the fabric tears easily making it look **** especially when the shirt has a few of them. Especially in mil environment where abrasion and wear can be hard. Some other similar products(5.11,...) are supposedly better in this respect.

I wear one of the shirts while skiing and it's excellent.

And yes, Argylls wife does love the feeling of the briefs.

I hate their compression briefs. Must be the differencies in male and female anatomy. If they only made them looser so that I had more space.

I have a couple of their loose gear grey/blue t-shirts for working out. they're very comfortable...my only complaint is the damn static cling that deveolps.

I'm a hairy guy and the chia pet look on the chest hairs isn't the best. I sound like a bowl of rice crispies when I take the shirt off...snap, crackle and "Damn it!" from the static discharge.

Can't speak for Coldgear, but in general, I LOVE Underamour clothing! At $20+ a shirt though they're kinda pricey, and at first made me hesitant to buy them at all. After wondering forever, though, what it must have been like to wear those "sweat-evaporating" Heatgear tshirts while in the Middle East, I finally broke down and bought one. Within weeks I ended up wearing Underarmour exclusively! Same goes for the boxer briefs. SUPER-comfortable, and worth every penny to me.
I must say, though, that quite a few people here on the boards said that UA and similar stretchy/spandex-type clothing is the worst choice one could make for underclothing while deployed, due to the fact that if caught on fire (from an IED, for example) it will melt to your skin, causing further injury and possibly hindering the healing process. Knowing that, however, I think I would still take my chances with it. If bombs and fiery death are not a factor in your choice of clothing, however, I say go for it!

I have the Coldgear mock neck and it does an amazing job of keeping me dry. When I wore I t-shirt under my sweater I would sweat, the moister would be retained and turn cold. With the underarmour the sweat just wicks away so I don't get that uncomfortable clammy feeling anymore. The thing with coldgear you can't wear it by itself, it needs another layer on top to keep you warm.

Hi,

Underarmour released both Army Brown and now ACU Tan for loose gear long and short sleeve teeshirts. They are great as a base layer.

Thank you,

Robert

Thank you for the insight.
I am going to purchase some UA clothing. I'll probably just order the ColdGear shirt first and see what else I would need down the line..

I've got one of each, and they're great when doing alot when it's hot. I'm still wearing them here, but I'm about to have to switch out cause it's starting to get cool.
