lol.. its nice.. but did that CD player throw anyone eles off? why would u need that if u are rushing down the road/offroad at 60mph with a full battle ready crew? besides all the noise, i rather hear the shells come in than sunndernly relize i was under attack only because of the pause between the songs

Here something similar to that orange sign can be found on houses with an air raid shelter, but I guess the Poles have some other meaning for it, what?

Very nice photos, never seen the interior so detailed before.
The XC-360P has an OTO Melara HITFIST 30 turret with 30mm cannon and the Finnish version has a .50 cal M2 HMG, but what other differences does it have compared to the Finnish version?

Their stereo system can only play audio-cds, ours can also handle dvd and mp3.. ;)
Thats about it..

Hm, the Finnish AMV definitively does not have a M2, but an over-head weapon station with a Russian 12.7 mm NSV (video: http://tietokannat.mil.fi/kalustoesittely/media/1084863781_pasi_itkk.mpg ), the Poles have ordered Israeli Rafael's over-head (they call it remote-controlled although it's the same thing) weapon station to equip some of their AMV's, also with NSV.

I remember reading from another forum that Finnish AMVs would be equipped with Kongsberg "remote-controlled" turrets with .50 cal M2s, but this could be false information - Internet forums are not exactly very credible sources...
But it would be logical, because the AMVs could be used in international missions and the NH90s will have NATO-caliber weapons aswell (2 x 7.62 KK MG 3) like the Leos and the FDF is trying to westernize its equipment.

You can pick a lot of chicks up in Minsk with the thing. It would be a real eye turner and would give a different meaning to the usual sticker "keep honking I'm reloading"!!! Now, if you have a bad relationship with the babes folks you and your babe can baricade yourself in the damn thing. Her old man's shotgun can't punch through the armour. The vehicle is also ideal in other situations involving a romantic relationship. Floods,... snow,... artillery... nothing gets between you and your babe! Good old pops has locked her in her room...No problem. Punch through the front door. What can he do? Plant mines in the lawn? Finally you can always make a pancake out of her ex's mercedes anytime. Can't wait till Greece buys something like that!!!

Minsk? I did not know that Finland has sold them to Belarus...;)
I don't think that the key's are any problem and you can remove the system and replace it with button start.

I've read about the AMV comming with a M2 as well. From an official source if I'm not completely mistaken. I'll see if I can dig it up.

I'd guess it much more likely they'll be armed with the NSV, mounted on the Kongsberg Protech PROTECTOR RWS, which is already used on the XA-203's ;)

It's MY2005 so It is modern, however I see no dual side air-con and no airbags ;)

Lol air-con isn't needed in a climate like ours. But if it's to be used on international missions, they'll most likely install air-con just like Sweden did on our CV9040 C's.

Bottom left switch, see snow flake? Well it is not dual-side but front-rear AC ;-) As for airbags... does anti-mine and anti-fire and NBC protections counts?

I like the details of these photos. The Kiwi LAV comes to mind where it's not allowed to take photos inside. Like come on! As if those would even have anything close to what these Polish AMV's have. The Israelis seems to have the "no photos inside" policy as well, but then again they have some truly unique state of the art equipment as well.
Maybe the Poles biggest secret is what the orange sign with the black triangle is since nobody answers that question :(

I have only one thing to say about that = Apply some source criticism will you my young friend. "Pääesikunta", you think generals write those articles? It's probably some 18 year old conscript that simply messed up.
Ok, despite what I promised above, here is some additional information. FDF always designates weapons with the calibre (and of course not with inch, but with the metric system) first, followed by the type of weapon and usually (but now always) with the year it was accepted for service. For example; 12.7 ItKK which is the FDF's designation for NSV.
And I don't see even one reason to start using M2's over NSV, not even one.

From mil.fi:
AMV on varustettu 0,50 kaliiperin konekivääritornilla
Doesn't say anything about the M2. "0,50 kaliiperin" could refer to both M2 and NSV.
The XA-360 P1 (http://www.mil.fi/maavoimat/kalustoesittely/index.dsp?level=68&equipment=106) (a prototype?) is equipped with an NSV.
What ever HMG they decide to buy, it's a shame we won't be getting any heavier weaponry for the AMVs - 30mm cannons would've been great for supporting infantry...

i think it's some kind of attention sign for vehicles, you know, they drive sometimes in the city traffic.....
Ritter

Maybe I'm wrong... but as I remember - it is an "extraordinary wide vehicle" sign used in our country on military vehicles (I don't know if only) in the city/civilian traffic.

Whatever this sign means, it has something to do with the road regulations. :)
btw. the Civil Defence uses a similar sign, but the triangle is blue, not black.

Ok I've got the answer. Brzeczyszczykiewicz is right. A vehicle which is transporting dangerous material (i.e exposives) and is an Armed Forces vehicle must have this yellow or red circle with black triangle inside. The regulation also says that extreme caution is advised for anyone who's near this kind of vehicle. It's in Polish Road Code art. 56 item 2 and 3 :).

yes, but if you add turret, with 30 mm cannon, it won't swim....right?
As long as Gross Vehicle Weight is less then 20 or 22t it will swim (normally). You may have to loose some armor plating.
