Hello!

Here`s some photos scanned from book "Kaukopartosissit rautateillä" written by.Pentti.H.Tikkanen.

The book is about Finnish long-range patrols,which operated against Soviet union`s railway supply lines at ww2.

Sarcasm? Murmansk is just a stone's throw away, they went as far as Arkhangelsk.

Yes.

The operations against railway near Akhangelsk is described also in this book.
P.H.Tikkanen is excellent writer.He had done lot of interviews of former members of these patrols.

He has also book called "Päämajan sissit".It´s about creation of these long-range units. I have thought to buy it.

I have Tikkanen's book "Valiosissit kaukopartiossa" (Elite Rangers at Long-Range Patrol) but no scanner...

Thanks ive heard about these a long time ago, and now the "name has a face".. ;)

Vänrikki(second lieutenant)Viljo Suokas,commander of patrol,which operated against railway near Akhangelsk
And was shot dead while clearing a house because the tossed grenade in instead of satchel charge before entering the house.. :/
