Most of the Palestinians that were killed today were armed gunman firing bullets are thier home made rockets and not mere stone throwers as some of those captions like to insinuate.

Yeah, I´ve heard of tripods. But what did that have to do with anything?
In the picture it looks like the rocket hit the ground shortly after it left
the tube. By the way, the inexperienced swedes don´t have low-riders.

You know, one thing is for sure: ever since I started seeing pictures of the Israel/Palestinians conflict here, I definitely gained an opinion on what is going on there.
IDF soldiers also deserve respect for their patience with palestinians and minimazing collateral damage.

Question for Israelis: how would you rate combat skill level of an average palestinian gunmen?

What skills? Many of them probably don´t have a day of training.

The rocket is going upwords ... But the trypod is so low , that it might hit the ground before it goes up ...

I would rather say that it goes downwards bigtime. The tube seems to be
too short, and the tube could be tilted a bit more upwards. Looks quite
interesting, given the size of the rocket the warhead might be able to take
out a Merkava, if it´s properly built with a correctly shaped warhead.

Atleast the 112 mm warhead on a Apilas could do it.

Ah , Mustamato , **** you don't know ... It is pretty strange choice for "Albana" launcher , usually they much longer , and have higher trypods .

They are training a little better then Swedish army. To bad , to bad i have no pictures from their training camps inside Gaza strip (i am not mentioning camps inside Syrian borders , Lebanon training camps , and i heard some rummers that they training in Saudi Arabia desert , but those just rummors ) . They wouldn't shame no real army camp . They used also to train in Lebanon with Hisballah in ATGM use , and sniped on IDF tanks there . So , trust me , they have very good "boot camp" .

Well , that is depends , from what organization the guy is (there are fighters that part of millitant group , and there are simple criminal teenagers with guns on they hands ) , and what place you talking (Gaza , where the fighter are on much better level , and west bank , where they still like to use "spray and pray" method) .

In Gaza , Palestinian Police , and Ez a Din fighter has pretty much good knowladge (the guys behind the sand are deffenetly not part of those ) in fighting , and they use weapons tacticlly correct (as a local population , making IDF not to use tank shells ) , they have "battle groups" , with snipers , RPG'sts , and MG'sts all together . I would give them a solid 8 out of 10 , and Palestinian police solid 6 .

IDF soldiers also deserve respect for their patience with palestinians and minimazing collateral damage. If your not being sarcastic, then its good to finally see you become a bit open minded about what we face and what we do.

I know I sure as hell have become a bit more open minded about what your native country man have faced in chenaya and how you guys have operated (even though a lot more collateral damage and much more people have been killed by your conflict ;) )

Question for Israelis: how would you rate combat skill level of an average palestinian gunmen? well it depends, there are a lot who got “police” training and lots of them are fighting against Israel.

Also there are lots of Palestinian groups like Hamas or Islamic jihad, that trained in various camps in the west bank or some out of it (like in Lebanon and in Syria).

Country to popular belief, they have a lot of good snipers as well.

Then there are the rest that don’t and as such you se a lot of indiscriminate firing.

I remember when the intifada broke out, almost on a nightly bases, there would be constant shooting and a lot was direct shots but also a lot was from them to all directions so a lot aren’t the best trained but hey with ak’s, RPG’s and their home made rockets, even a poorly trained person can be very deadly ;)

No, I am not being sarcastic.
I guess you cann say that I finally "see the light" :)

Reading yours, Javehn's and other israelis posts has definitely "opened my eyes" on that conflict, so to speak.
A soldier will never fight from behind womans' and kids' backs but a terrorist would.

Collateral damage control by Israelis is very impressive, I guess it is just a different mentality.

Both the Launcher , and the missile are home made , again , it's a "Taw" meats "RPG" . And this launcher seams to be a 1.00 version of it , just too short to me . It's called "El-Bana" , all "Made in Gaza" . Had a meeting with one of those ... ;)

Depends if they worked good on it ... Overall , not so good . ;) It's not production line , and every one is different . Like the one on top, i am shure that it's total piece of crap . There are good working launchers , but if you noticed , the operating part is tricky , the missile is in open while an operator is behind safe place. The operator doesn't have the same LOS as the missiles , so mostly they just use those to spook more , then to actually harm , and pray to Allah that he will guide the missile . It's total waste of good matterial .
Lately they started to put those 5 metters from the road turn , so while the tank is passing threw corner and still isn't seying the launcher , they launch it , and hit it from 5 metters is not problem . But , tactic , my friend , mOUT tactic ;)

Yes, if they have a correctly shaped warhead, and given the calibre it should be able to penetrate something like 500-600 mm of steel probably, (given that the 112 mm Apilas used in Finland penetrates even more than that with its quite conventional shaped warhead). But I guess those are not home-made, and have a HE-FRAG warhead, so hm. It´s a quite interesting concept anyway. How we in the inferior swedish army, with crappy training compared to the palestinians according to Javehn do, so I don´t know how much this is worth.

Good way, but you better hit with the first one and then run like hell

Preferred way, especially when setting up ambushes in cities and so forth

You make my heart bleed . Nice thingy , by the way .

If you have al-jazeera watch it. They light up a couple of tires. Then some guy runs with that laucnher hides it behind the inflamed tire and fire it. Its not wire guided thats the wire to fire the rocket

Offcorse it's for ignite the rocket . Who said here that it's wire guided ?? I know how that **** flyes pretty well :|

About the second part , i can give you at list one way to come to Syria those days . Tunnels in city of Rafah inside Egypt , and there you free as a bird . It's something like 160 metters from Rafah to Egypt.
There are confirmed reports about Fatah trainies inside South Lebanon , that participated with Hisballah attacks as part of their training .

I think that these morons deserve everything that the Isrealis give them. I mean they throw rocks, shoot at them, blow themselves up, and when they get shot or attacked by Israel which is just defending itself, they start complaining about the injustice and all this bull****.

I say, if you stop all the stupid half assed crackhead attacks you "mount" againsat Israel, then the "injustices" (I use that term sarcastically) then your houses wouldn't get blown up and your little rock throwing prick kids wouldn't get shot. At this point I feel your whole race deserves the attacks that Israel does.....

These morons in these pictures just piss me off, sorry for the rant everyone....lol

You do realize that this is happening in the occupied Gaza strip. It is the Palestinians that are defending themselves, however pathetic it might be.

Palestinian TOW, didn´t seem to work that well though.
Tube-launched, optically-tracked, wire-guided? I doubt it. The launcher appears home-made, the missile doesn't ....

The Israelis move into this strip to root out the terrorists who use the area to recuperate and plan attacks out side of the strip.
Look at the pictures Nielsen, you cant seriously say you are goin to defend these guys? If you are then I just will just have to bypass your posts because their hiding in front of and behind children for gods sake! That is not defensible, it is criminal!

Mr. Nielsen the IDF wouldn't be going into Gaza or the Westbank if Abu Ala would do what he is supposed to do, destroy or arrest the Palestinian terrorists. The IDF treats the Palestinians so well compared to what any other military in the world would do. The US killed hundreds of Somali civilians in one battle in 1993 in Somalia. This wasn't done purposely but still you should be able to see how the IDF is much more careful than everyone else in combat to avoid killing civilians. You act like the Israelis are so brutal when two civilians get accidently killed because they are standing infront of hamas gunmen. The Palestinians suicide bombers and terrorists are cowards because they attack innocent civilians. If the Israelis were to sink as low as the Palestinians then this fighting would've of ended 4 years ago.
