I suggest you eat Jägerschnitzel with Potatoes and an Apfelstrudel as Dessert or Better Kaiserschmarrn (really cool)

No one eats Bratwurst mit Sauerkraut. The real deal (even though i don't like it) is Kasseler mit Sauerkraut.

to that list:
Quiche and Goulasch aren't really german, even though very common here.
Currywurst = fastfood (5.75$ is ridiculous)

Spätzle are german or better swabian, but i think Käsespätzle are austrian (maybe, not 100% sure). But they are good. Anyway, if they're not fresh or selfmade they're crap.

I think these two should also be typical German food, right? And also, Roulade , which is kind of rolled flesh, should also be typical German food.

Anyway, the food from south Germany like Weißwurst, Brezel, Schweinehaxe are much more famous compared with other food. Just wondering what could be typical food from north Germany.

A friend of me has been in St. Petersburg and has described a kind of russan fast food franchise, where you can put together your Pfandkuchen (pancake? sorry he is German, and I don't know the russian word any more) ... Eisbein is the traditional Schweinehaxe salted in brine prior to final preparation. I can either be roasted or boiled (in Berlin z. B. gekocht mit Erbspüree), especially if it becomes too salty in the brine. When roasted, the skin on the Eisbein becomes particulary crispy after brine preparation. I had one like that at in Hamburg once with plenty of Aqua Vit to finish.
