Even with the suppressor, what about the kick that mother would throw at you, I mean the .50 rifles must kick a lot as is, but your hands would be punished. Probably throw ya back a foot or two

EDIT: Gaz, one word describes that guys soul purpose, killing. that will stop em and drop em faster. although the bullet would pretty much disentigrate the poor guy whos on the recieving end of that thing.

In my hunting experience a sensible round in the right place is better than a huge round in the general direction...
If you want a rifle round or a HMG round take a rifle or a HMG.

I doubt the target woud know the difference between a 22lr to the brain or a .50 cal. Even a 12 gauge with solid slug rounds would make more sense than a .50 cal pistol. The velocity and accuracy generated by such a short barrel would be pathetic anyway... if you are only going to use it at close range at least a sawn off double barrel with solid slugs offers two quick shots and relatively faster reloads.

Even though I have lost all place here, I agree with EliteWolf. Making a weapon like this is just...not worth it. What in the hell are you going to shoot with this? A deer? Hell no! All you'll have left is a pair of antlers! A burglar? Good god! You'll be the one charged for crimes against humanity! Now Saddam, or Bin Laden, maybe.

the reason for rifle cartrige-firing pistols is for hunting, NOT defense! the idea is that if you go hunting with that pistol, you have to get rather close, and you only have one shot. some hunters feel this is more "sporting". the day someone buys that for home defence is the day i switch off form my M16A2 to a bow/arrow with exploding tips. it would make about as much sense. (hint: this is sarcasm)

Hmmm? Quite stunned that I, who doesnt care **** for guns and pistols or whatever that has a trigger can enlighten you ppl in here. First! Caliber .50 have been around for a longer time than I myself have had theeth in my mouth. Second! (and on this I'm not quite that sure) It was first made for shooting competitions at a range. Third: the users of such guns (hand artillery) are laying on their backs while fireing such a monster, using their thighs as support. (have seen it on TV.)

Hmm Hmmm. I think the Desert Eagle in .50AE takes a backseat to the new .500 Smith and Wesson round. It is chambered in a, you guessed it, Smith and Wesson large frame (X or K-frame i think) revolver.

Shoot that, and you wont be able to feel your wrists for a month.
