"PQ-17". Still in production but almost complete.
Looks cool. Explosions rather weak though but don't forget - it doesn't have budget of Titanic :)

Yeah, that is a good one, it really opened my eyes up for russian movies.
This new upcoming one looks quite nice, personally I donīt give a ****
about lame effects, itīs the plot that matters. If itīs just "russian" and not
too Hollywood then it will probably be excellent.

Sadly, it will probably never end up on DVD here :(

Argh! I forgot to mention THIS movie:
"72 meters"
http://www.1tv.ru/72/

to prevent different speculations: script for this movie was written long before "Kursk" case

Where is PQ-17 happening. The black sea?
It will be nice, for a change, with a movie where the red army don't speak english. Kill's authenticity.

Ohh! PQs was convoys with lend lease stuff traveled from UK to Soviet port Murmansk. PQ-17 was most unfortunate of them - practically destroyed by planes and U-boats.

PQ 17 was the largest lend lease convoy tothe USSR. It consisted out of 35 cargo ships, 2 tankers and 24 various other vessels that provided defense. Out of them only 11 made it. The total worth of supplies ($700 mil) in that convoy was 80% of total lend lease convoys sent after it.

Convoy left Island on June 27, 1942 and was under constant attack from bombers and submarines since July 1. It was successfully defended up until July 4 when british admiralty ordered ships to disperse and make it to soviet ports on their own.

The whole convoy was a trap for "Tirpitz", it was a live bait for it. British really wanted to get the fastest and most powerful ship of that time, it was a matter of pride.

Actually entire convoy could be destroyed if not for K-21(soviet submarine) that damaged "Tirpitz", after that it had to hide in Tromse, Norway where it was finnished off by british planes flown from the russian north airfields.
