Empire Earth 2 - cant decide if 3rd version is worth the money

Command and Conquer Generals Zero Hour - modded the crap out of that one myself.

Stronghold 1 - going to buy 2nd version

I used to play a couple others I really liked, but its been a long time ago and I cant remember their names. I really like them when they make them easy to mod, because by simply changing a few variables the game stays fresh and challenging much longer

Well you can't really call it a RTS since it's both turn based and RTS.

Rome Total War is ****ing sweet

Yeah the Total war series is good, I really would like to See them make a NapoleonicTW, I know there is a mod but a retail game would be sweet.

I have Imperial Glory

It has its flaws but its excellent none the less.

Hey though if your interested in a Napoleonic game, check out Imperial Glory, the only downside is the combat RTS part is a bit confusing sometimes, it dosnt have the simplicity that RTW does. In addition to that there is no pause to give your troops orders its all off the cuff or they just have to stand there. Formations are essential although too potent sometimes. Overall its a excellent game though.... except the Naval combat can get annoying.

I was hooked for months, expanding my empire, trying to keep the french and the spanish at bay.

its pretty cool.

If you've played the AOEs before and liked the, get AOE3. If not, try Rome: total war or Warhammer 40k: dawn of war.

sudden strike (http://www.gamespot.com/search.html?type=11&stype=all&qs=sudden+strike&x=0&y=0) series, beats the crap out of red alert type strategy games.
excellent series, i certainly reccommend it to everyone
