Why do you blur the faces? The pics were shot in a public spot and I guess that media was covering the event as well.

As much as I dislike Tony Bliar and the Labour Guberment, it would still be sort of cool to get pics.

Maybe because it's the British way.
Hell our PM only has at most 2 security watching him. AFAIK

You can only SEE two of them... hehe.
But seriously, hiding your security in the crowd is much more effective. It doesn't matter how many kickass black suits you got 'round you if you get shot by a sniper rifle. And finding a threat before it's actually a threat is more worth while than standing around waiting for it. Look at JFK for an example, he had like... what? 20 guys watching him? (I don't know my facts here) We all know how that well that worked...
Just felt like writing something different for a bit. Bloody essay on the world history I'v got to do to tomorrow (lot's of to's)
g'nite on yer

you are right , i f a sniper can hit a target at 2.5 km , then these folks are usuless , it is to prevent the lunatic attacts like the lennon guy , the reagan dude etc. very expensive price tag for celebs, not for PM's or ministers..

Your "sniper" needs a guided missile to hit something at 2.5 km.

You are probably talking about the canadian sniper team that shot a Taliban fighter at 2430m. It took two rounds to hit him because of the extreme range of the shot. The bullet flew for a few seconds from the time it was fired to the time it impacted, so you have to be able to hit a moving target not only in space but also in time, something that is very hard if your target has an irregular movement.

POLICE I believe that there was aroung 5 suits around him ...probably more in the crowd...countless armed police and CCTV at every advantage point. Westminster is a very small area so they would be mad not to control the ground
Note the lapel badges on the suits...I believe its the international 'thing to do'

I've touched his Jag (or it might have been a Daimler - I can't remember), but I've touched Tony's car.
Can I have the £10?

Yea, leave the faces of the security personel alone - there's no security concerns there.
But do obscure Cherie's face - that was worse than some of the beheading videos on Ogr*sh.com.

Because they're not the Army perhaps?
Loosening off 5.56 in a public area isn't really a wise idea p-)

One last chance before they go
Why did you block out the faces of some of the security members , espcially when their faces were only seen by thousands of ppl and countless cameras?

On the 14th June 2002 the British-Irish Council held a summit in Jersey, my home.
"The British and Irish Governments were represented by the Prime Minister, the Rt Hon Tony Blair MP and the Taoiseach, Mr Bertie Ahern TD respectively. "
Their cars needed to be kept somewhere secure overnight - and ended up in the rear of the appliance bay of our fire station , which is adjacent to the police station.
All the guys had a good nose round them, but unfortunately they were locked so we couldn't check out the inside!
One of the guys took some pictures, but he's since retired.
So I have touched Tony's car.
£10 please...
