After his recent statements about the holocaust beeing a hoax and the idea of moving israel to Europe i would have thought there would already be a large thread about this guys statements..?
This guy creeps me out, he`s ultra fundimental and seems to play "hardball" so to say..
Saw on tv a clip of him talking to some clerics.
He said that when he adressed the people (on moving Israel and other things) he said he "his aid said he saw him enveloped in a shining aura"
"shining aura" anyone? What the hell is up with this guy, were is he going with his presidency?
any thoughts or comments? (preferably serious)
Reminds me of a certain Tom Clancy book. Does that ring any bells?
Cheers
Andreas
It's political posturing. He is not speaking to the world. He is speaking to Iranians.

Could you explain me the difference between the both? He is already president, he doesn't need some electoral trick or more populism. He is speaking the same words that Ayatollah Khomeini, his spiritual leader.
This guy is dangerous because he say openly what the others think but don't admit.
Words alone are irrevelant but if you add nuclear weapon, you have a devastator cocktail.
A war is coming very soon, time to wake up guys...

annoyed yes, worried no, because when push comes to shove we can turn his country into a big parking lot. If he was sitting on several hundred nukes, or even one for that matter, maybe i would be worried.
he can talk all the talk he wants, but he cant walk the walk. Hes just another tool in a box full of tools.

Maybe the guy is a little bit like G.W...
As in neither are very good at speaking properly... perhaps not, I know neither personally, and it might be an act or something...
However, if he is going to war, acting like this is going to utterly spoil the surprise...

Tell that to the rest of the Muslim world. He is embarrassing the other Muslim countries who are putting up a show of tolerance and anti-terrorism.
Even some of President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad's conservative allies in Iran were growing disillusioned, fearing he has hurt the country with his wild rhetoric. Iranian moderates also called on the ruling clerics to reel him in.
"The president has to choose his words carefully. He can convey his message to the world in better language tone," Hamid Reza Taraqi, a leader of a hard-line party, the Islamic Coalition Society, told The Associated Press.

The fact that he has any political opponents is irrelevant. Any opponents of the orthodoxy are disqualified by the Council of the Guardians.
