I never see this video before. Where do you find it?

For what I can a west-block aircraft (or helicopter, the HUD is more similiar to attack 'copter than a fighter) open fire with a IR missile (without a lock) or a rocket against
an enemy 'copter (it's real difficult to say what it s, a Bell type?).

I really don't know, but it's very interesting

Could be, but the quality of the video its so low.

If the helo is an Hind we can rescrict the engagement to the battle Isreal- Syria in june 1982 (anyway the Isreal didn't shoot down any Hinds), Iran-Iraq War (and could be possible, but I never heard that someone has ever see Iranian HUD videos), IIPGW (the Yankees shooted down 8 'copters, but only a Hind hit by a Sparrow, and the F-15 HUD is well Know).

I know that a Ah-64 229 (Avn/101st) shooted down a IrAF helo (I dont' know the type) the 27-feb-91 with an Hellfire. So if I'm that right (but I'm no sure) that what we see in the video is a HUD-camera film take by a attack helicopter, it could be this engagement.

:)
It is very funny to hear Israeli or Iranian pilots speaking on English :)
Last suggestion seems to be more accurate. :)

Aren't these coordinates on the HUD:

N33.25
W115.11

??

Ok, i Have just checked an old HUD-video from an Apache, and I sure that the attacking one is an Apache and, very propably, it had fired an Hellfire against the other helo (this's the reason 'cause we don't see the classical lock of the american fighters). Probably the WSo had "painted" the enemy helo with laser and tried a deflection shoot when the enemy moved from 10 o'clock to 1 o'clock (left to right).

So it was a IIPGW engagement for sure or, at least, an unreported engagement of Iraqi Freedom (in this case the Apache did not downed the enemy helo).

So we have come to the conclusion that it was a Apache vs. a (probable) Hind?

So I can rename the file properly that is.

If yes longitude set incorrect - i don't know any Apache vs helo fights in Mexica :)
But latitude is inside Iraq. Near Hilla and Najaf

i think they were not trying to hit it, but rather something else when the helo crossed the line of fire, since that helo lookes like a cobra... the sound seems to confirm this (there is ones in front of us... oh ****... bad move)
