More than 1,600 people have been taken to hospitals in Tehran as pollution in the Iranian capital reaches critical levels, health officials have said.
Hospitals have reported increased cases of heart attacks and breathing problems, while many residents are complaining of fatigue and headaches.

TEHRAN: Residents of the smog-choked Iranian capital were told yesterday not to go to work or school for two days in an unprecedented government effort to stop Tehran from suffocating.

I just noticed this not so flattering news from Iran.. makes me wonder if the recent dumbass remarks by their president was at least to some ways aimed to draw attention away from how much things suck domestically...
