I was checking 'n lookin into this, any users here? I've noticed how Para doesn't get much mention. Also noticed a lil pricey, but kinda like HK. I think this goes for like $800.

Anyways, was curious what ya'll thought.

I've shot the Para LDA in .40 with a single stack & thought it was cooler than canned beer. I have never liked the Para double stack .45s as they felt too big for my hand & I don't have small hands by anyone's (except maybe Wilt Chamberlain's) standards. May be worth a look though, if you can get your hands on one for review...

Looks nice!:) But when it comes to 1911 clones, I'm still very much in love with the STI pistols. Nothing in this Extra Small size though.

Sold a bunch of the .45 Warthogs, and heard nothing but good comments.

(Go with the .45ACP!!! 10+1rds in a package that small!)

How much did the .45's go for Skorotsnoy? I'm guessing the 9 would be cheaper. My budget is around $7/800
Also, can both mount night sights?

When I was working there, they sold for about $850. That's the standard Para Warthog. THere's the Nitehog, which is all-black (including controls), and has night sights. I don't know who the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer) guys are for Para as far as night sights go, hopefully Trijicon. If not, go with Trijicon. I had Meprolight sights on my Kimber TLE2, didn't like them.

As far as cost goes, good guns are not an expense, but an investment. If you can personally shoot and handle the .45ACP well in a stressfull environment (IE life is at stake), which shouldn't be that big of a problem in comparison with a 9, then I'd go the extra $50-150 and get the .45. Hands down a better self defense cartridge, even out of such a short barrel length. I won't argue the 9mm vs .45 debate, I'll let US history take my place in that arguement!

Either way, have fun. It's a nice gun and suprisingly easy to shoot.

Of all the .45 ACP handguns I have owned:

Sig P220
Glock 21
Springfield M1911
Colt M1911
Para P14

The Para is the one I enjoyed the most.

There are heaps of M1911 frame makers to chose from but the Para is the one I liked best
