As the promised land (lol), no seriously, i live in front of the US embassy in Tel Aviv, and everymorning you see a huge line waiting for visas.
By the way, talking about visas , US policy toward the Israelis born in arab countries is deplorable, I have plenty of accointances born or descendants of Irakis, Iranians and yemenite jews who are having a hard time getting a tourist visa, if possible at all.
To come back to our subject, sorry for the disgression, I would say that the states have a high status in Israel, people love the USA in general, it s culture and we do remember your support in time of hardship.

He raises a good point...if people in Europe and The MIddle East hate the US so much, why the hell are so many of them so desperate to get visas to the US?

Its not only the U.S. most are happy to go anywhere whether it be the U.S., canada, U.K, Australia, France.
