Those poor Brits. Hope they lived that war...

Just don't ask them to invade an Island ;)

Great troops. My father told me that the German troops were far superior to the British... its just that their supplies ran out and faced by a overwhelming superior force. However, highly trained and well organised warriors.

Again, great pics.

What's the story on those British POW's? I always heard and read the "Fallis" treated their POWs well, even the officers, is that true?
Does anyone have some fatcual knowledge about it?

more literally, Break-fall hunter.

Not really...
Fall means uh... fall.:roll:
Schirm means either screen, cover, or umbrella (a parachute has the form of an umbrella)
Fallschirm=parachute
Jäger means hunter, but is used as a word for light infantry in many European armies.

not really but my grandfather said they behaved themselves honourably during the fight in 1940. He was stationedin Rotterdam when they landed their dicipline was such that during the fighting a trooper was given a short prison sentence for shooting a bird out of a tree or some such nonsense because that's not how a german soldier behaved himself according to his CO (graf von Sponeck?) :D

The prisoners could have been captured by the Fallschirmjaegerat Crete. Crete or North Africa.

Hopefully someone can sort me out here.

So there were Luftwaffe Paratroops, the SS had a Battalion (500/600).

Did the German Army have paratroopers also? How many divisions?

Thanks

PS great pics
