Catchphrase jokes? No, not "Roy Walker walks into a bar..." but why do everyday people think that repeating a funny catchphrase from the comedy show makes them comedy geniuses? Even worse when the ****heads decide to use them as ringtones for their mobiles. Andy Pipkin is NOT funny when it's some crap impersonator blaring out from a phone. Bastards, the lot of them.

Don't think so... German girls are quite good looking... I think it has to do with the isolated population on islands. Inbreeding on a large scale...
Regarding the striking ugliness of British women, binge drinking is the only way how reproduction can work in Britain...p-)

I think it's a more localised scale of inbreeding. My town for example has an extremely ugly population, all of which were born and raised here. However, just 15 miles up the road is a town where all the good looking, non inbred ladies seem to have emigrated to.

So it seems to be the luck of the draw as to what you get.

Well I travel to Germany regularly (my wife is half German) and even she regularly remarks about the number of complete howlers over there.

As for insularity and inbreeding Britain was a global trading nation with people going backwards and forwards to distant lands for hundreds of years while Germans were er sitting in Germany. My wife's relatives in Swabia are nice people (as long as your not Black/Chinese/Asian/Russian/Bavarian/North German etc) but are the most insular people I have met anywhere in my travels round the globe. Unlike you Fritz we've never had racial purity laws either ;)

Actually that's simply not true. In Britain we've got the descendents of Picts, Irish, Welsh and Scottish Celts, Pre Celtic peoples, people from all parts of the Roman Empire (including Africa and the ME), Angles, Saxons, Jutes, Danes, Norsemen, Norman and other French, plus massive waves of immigration from Eastern Europe and Italy in the 19th and mid 20th centuries. Then there's all the immigration from the various colonies too which isn't exactly a recent phenomenon. For example in the mid 18 century there were ~20,000 Africans living in London alone and from the early 19th a lot of Indians and Chinese too. All these groups left their mark on our society and now Britain has the highest proportion of mixed marriages/partnerships of any society in the Western world.
But you're right there's a lot of fat ugly pigs out there :-) and in Germany too

Britain was simply given up by the empire, just like Germany north of the Danube and the Rhine (these countries were too barbaric to conquer p-)). That simply isn't true. Georgian London was famous for being 'a den of iniquity' and to put it bluntly people in those days liked to breed their own slaves. Not very PC I know.
