Love the Colt Commando
Good pics
My dad served in that C/75th during his tours in Vietnam.
The guys weren't really Recon(I'm sure they did some recon missions), most of their missions were to go out, and ambush enemy patrols, supply lines, etc in their AO(different parts of Vietnam, Loas and Cambodia).

I don't think Rangers did missions in cambodia and Laos. Most of the ambushes outside of South Nam were carried out by SOG and their hatchet companies. Same goes for 5th group. Anyways get you're dad a beer for me plz.

Great pics man. There were some over the border missions by LRRP\LRP teams. My dad was a Huey pilot, and he flew alot of the SOG missions, but occasionally they would fly the LRRP missions. My dad almost flipped his lid when I told him I was going infantry, and wanted to go to Ranger school and all that. He said he ran into some 1st Cav LRRP's in a bar one night, that kept VC ears on key chains. It took a LONG time for him to get used to the idea that I was gonna be a ground pounder.

Once again Goldman you are NUMBER ONE!!!!!!
GREAT WORK !!!!!
The pic of the soldier with the sunglass is like the surfer from APOCALIPSY NOW.
Also the pic with the Rangers wrote this words is something that all "FLOWER" BOY AND GIRLS of today must read and pray for the soldiers that fight in IRAQ AND AFGHANISTAN.
Keep the good work!!!

Rangers did do missions in Cambodia an Laos, how much I don't know. I know Charlia Co did, I'm sure others did aswell(depends on their AO).
Charlie Co saw a lot of action during their time in Vietnam, they also got moved around within the 1st Field Force AO. They were also the largest Ranger Company, and from the guys who served in it, the best Company.

Excellant find Goldman! (nice to see the ERDL fatigues!)
Yes, the title is a misnomer, the US Army activated LRRP units in 1965(?)
Later, they were redesignated LRP. Then by 1970, all had become Ranger Co. As with the LRRP/LRP, each division and seperate brigade had its own Rgr Co.
Recon was the main mission of the LRRP/LRP & Ranger Co. (as well, as other missions!)
In 1974, 1st and 2nd Ranger Battalion, 75th Infantry was activated.
