They do used 52 calibre for FH 2000.

Actually they did evaluate on the M109 but found it too wide and too heavy for our jungle terrain. So they decide to built their own. I think the gun use is similar.

The Singaporeans have a number of SP's in NZ at the present time along with some FH2000. They're trial firing them in Waiouru.

Strange choise of gun, most modern SP 155 mm are 52 calibre with range of 40+ km.

I think they chosen L39 because of lower weight & better maneuverability in the jungle.
