This is kind of inspired by the, "What's HP sauce?" type posts in the 'What do you have for breakfast? (http://www.militaryphotos.net/forums/viewtopic.php?t=8744)' thread. It's only a bit of fun (well for us Brits), so don't drag the thread down with a load of useless crap, et cetera. :)

Right, it's mainly aimed at the American's, but everyone can take part. Try not to use Google (or whatever) as you'll only be cheating yourself, and somehow we'll find out if you have ;). Let the game commence! :D

What is/are, in British English, ...

... Bollocks?

... a Boot? (Not as in the one you put on your foot.)

... a Cucumber?

... Jam?

... Jelly?

... Marmite?

... Trainers?

... a Fanny?

... a Fag?

... a Willy?

... a Bum?

... a Ciggie?

... an Estate? (Not as in a massive house and grounds.)

... a Hatchback?

... a Johnny?

... Chips?

... Crisps?

... a Tosser?

:P

That's it for now, I'll (try to) think of more later, for the next 'round'. Now get posting your answers!

Cucumber - Green vegtable consisting of mostly water

Jam - made from berries and it's very sweet

Jelly - marmalade perhaps

Trainers - running shoes as in Nike or Addidas

An Estate - a car with bigger luggage compartment due to box design in the aft. Hope I made it clear enough

A Hatchback - see estate

A Tosser - idiot?

If I'm wrong I can always blame it on being Swedish.
