View Full Version : Popularity ban
What are your opinions about making an exception and having a vote about banning a person? I mean, so far all he has produced is irritation, anger, bull**** and total ignorance. What use is it to keep such a person on the forums? Anyway, so my question is; what are your opinions about voting for a ban?
huh, you dutch are a little to obseced with big brother

Well I thought it was fairly obvious... sorry if I caused any confusion. Normally I'm not much for banning, but this guy is single-handedly steering the general discussion part of the forum into the gutter.

Is it one person under two names?
Hmmm, I was against banning morty so it would be very hypocritical of me to huff and puff over these people.
I think the moderators should have a PM to them about the level of anti-Muslim orientated posts.
Inciting hate isn't a pleasant reading experience.
Debating religous political issues is fine with me – but the objective of the posters seems to be more of subversive demonisation – creating fear to twist peoples minds to their own view point.

Not sure, but they have exactely the same rediculous views, and Tommy Gunn started posting when Sixgun stopped posting.
Anyway, both are up for banning.
BTW I know what you mean, normally I'm the last person to say 'ban', but this guy is... a special case.

Whoa, whoa, whoa...
People screamed bloody murder when others wanted to ban Mortimer, or ducimus19 or adambalhetchet and a few others.
They posted outlandish or extreme or even idiotic things and were duly hammered for it.
Now a few guys on the opposite side of the spectrum show up and you want 'em gone?
Why? What happened to embracing or accepting their freedom of speech?
Oh I forgot, we're only supposed to hear one side of things.
Let me be clear: I'm not defending their posts. They are big boys and are capable of defending themselves (or not). But to call for a ban at this point is the height of hypocricy.
If you don't like what they say, flame the f**k out of 'em or just ignore them.
It's all degenerated into a pissing contest anyway... :(

the forums should be completely open to anyone. the only people who should get banned are those whom Hood deem worthy of being banned. who was that guy who got banned for constantly posting pictures of dead american soldiers? was it mortimer?

I know this was going to come up, but whenever duci or Mortimer or whoever was trolling or whatsoever there was at least a grain of sanity in it. Besides, there's a difference between somewhat ignorant ultra leftie crap and well...plain KKK and Nazi views. At least they had views that weren't really aimed at hurting or screwing anyone or anything up. So far the views of the person we're talking about here are....all about starting hate.

Spreading hate and racial remarks arnt permitted anywere around my part of the woods, so I fail to see why the same rules dont apply here.
Sometimes even I let my emotions get the best of me, but theres no excuse for racism/constant negative comments about other beliefs. To the point of starting multiple threads covering the same topic basically, none of which is either productive or informative in any way.
Treat others the way you want to be treated. Otherwise go fawk yourself dry and go post on another forum because quite frankly I'm sick of these people ruining my experience of this website.
I'm 19 years old.....what the fawk is your excuse?

Yea, but if a bunch of Neo-Nazi's are in front of your door all the time... wouldn't you like ot have them leave?
Personally, no. Unless it gets violent or something. Different opinions don't offend me, bu that is just me. I love to argue and disagree. I always fell like I know better where I stand on stuff when I hear the other side and try to refute it. Especially when the other side is sixpense cephaly and the like.

This may be a military forum, but Hood welcomes all. His choice is to allow all who have a voice, to use it. If we want to exist here, we have to put up with the noise.
“The price of freedom of religion, or of speech, or of the press, is that we must put up with a good deal of rubbish.” ~ Robert Jackson
I personally enjoy the opposition. The conflict forces you to exercise thought rather than simply having a view. (For some)
“At times one remains faithful to a cause only because its opponents do not cease to be insipid.” ~ Friedrich Nietzsche
Even the most ignorant of views or most preposterous rhetoric may hold some truths that should come to light. Maybe the reason or context that it is presented is ridiculous but the view is still one that should be considered. As much of a mental midget as some of the more biased and hate filled people are here, don’t simply dismiss their ramblings. Take the time to see from their perspective, analyze the sources, reasons, and facts, then consider whether it has any credibility. Once you have done that… then you have ammo for the insult that is sure to follow. After all, Don’t we all enjoy insulting each other?
