Beside your standard issue police weapons, what sort of toys do they get to play with? Pics would be great

THIS IS NOT A SUBJECT FOR A NON-SECURED FORUM. USSS MISSION SPECIFIC DETAILS, NOT LIMITED TO T.O.E. (WEAPONS SYSTEMS) ARE NOT PUBLIC INFORMATION. PLEASE PRACTICE OPSEC.

No, the weapons they carry are not a National secret. But for operational reasons, that type of information is not public knowledge. The Special Agents assigned to E.P. have enough factors working against them w/o potential threats knowing how much firepower to plan for.
Some kids asked the Secret Service, and they told them:

Volusia County SWAT team and Secret Service is not really the same thing....
Check the badges out... look like gen-u-whine G-men badges. Probably had locals assisting as m/o's.
I participated in a security detail with the Secret Service when Bush made a visit to my state about a year andf a half ago. I saw the CAT guys with M4's, and I could have sworn I caught a glimpse of a para SAW buttstock as the passed by in their vehicle (Ford Excursion on this particular date). I was armed with my airsoft LAW.

And since I've never seen a G-man badge up close and personal (seen others though  ) I can't really say what those are - though I agree the general shape looks like a junior G-man badge.

Yep. I've seen those too.
There's a photo of a heavily armoured USSS uniformed agent carrying a P90 on the White House lawn somewhere in this forum.
Then there's the famous photo of the Reagan assassination attempt back in 1981, with the Secret Service agent unfolding the stock of his Uzi.
My guess is they use firearms.

they are wearing Dept. of Homeland Security badges; their new parent organization.
Hehe, lets face it, besides your average raving lunatic, I think any serious terrorist wouldnt be aided in the slightest by these pics or discusion. There are far far better sources for info. Im not privy to terrorist databases (me being a mostly law abiding patriot) but Im sure anyone wishing to make an assasination of the president has access to that kind of info if he/she wishes. Nobody's using militaryphotos.com as a guidebook for terrorism (unless your that idiot kid in Washingotn trying to give "Secrets" to AQ).
You know, everyone discussing on this topic just came under review by the secret service hehe. No joke, they constantly monitor the net for such "posts" and review them. All kinds of keyword search programs. Oh well, I got nothing....er. ...very little to hide. Well, certainly nothing the secret service would be interested in....OK OK, one time I accidently walked out of a gas station without paying for my drink, realized it a few miles down the rode, felt guilty, and then kept going with the rationale that I would buy gas from them a few times in a row to pay them back without making a big deal about it!!!! Please dont come and pick me up!!! STARPOINT Gas Station of Chapel Hill, North Carolina at the intersection of Smith Level and 15-501 will not be happy. I think they still have my wanted poster up from 1991.
By the way, what in the hell could a national guard trooper from Washington about to go to Iraq possibly have to give to AQ? Anyone see his arrest pics. Apparently he was runing around with a rifle near a elementary school. Police shoulda shot his ass on the spot if you ask me.
Maybe they wanted to hear his little secrets. He probabyl went to "TERROR.ORG" and started giving secrets like "The Bradley will kick your ass in the city, its main gun can reach you on the second floor and tear your ass up. ITs not like the Russian T-72 or BMP. It can react faster and is more versatile" and "Dont try to shoot a Abrams with your Ak 47, its not a good idea. It has some way kick ass armor. Some kind of Chobam composite layered armor that a 7.62 cant pierce" and "Im about ot go over there soon so dont shoot the guy thats 6"1'. brown hair, green eyes, and carrying a Koran in his left breast pocket". heheh what a dumb ****.
obd, c'mon. Those pics from the DAYTONA INTERNATIONAL SPEEDWAY that got run in the local Knoxville, TN newspaper Monday morning are highly sensitive. Let's face it, anything the USSS chose to do there, at the largest continual grandstand in the world with over 150,000 general public fans, would be highly secret! OPSEC. Shhhh! ;)

Well I'll sleep much better now that I know that so many Intelligence types (and all w/ classification authority) are monitoring and posting on this web site. Now I understand why every time I call the Intelligence offices, I always get sent straight to voice mail; you guys are all on-line.

saber, just save it. anything the people on here have found out via their web surfing, well then damned good odds that whoever else out there that is interested has found out as well. Besides which, small arms are hardly something to worry about as far as security concerns. whether the USSS happens to carry sigs, berettas, HK's...doesnt make one bit of difference to anyone except the 15 y/o PX rangers on sites like this.

Dude, what do your expect when you bring up OPSEC with pictures readily available in the public domain? Of course we are going to rag on you a little. Its not personal, its waht we do here. If I had posted about OPSEC I would expect the same. Do you really think that anybody here would know something that was actually secret? Probably not. Certainly not for something as innocucous as the weapons used by the USSS. Hell, FOIA mandates that the USSS release that informaiton if you ask for it the right way. ;)

Had a Uniformed USSS stick a folding stock assault shotgun in my gut once in college (went to school in DC). He was nice and removed it when he realized I was a friendly. However, the rest ofthe circumstances are fogged as it was about 3 am and I was pissed drunk.
In any event, I know they also sport Uzis and MP5s from time to time.
