Liberals claim President Bush shouldn't have started this war. They complain about his prosecution of it. One liberal recently claimed Bush was the worst president in U.S. history.

Let's clear up one point: We didn't start the war on terror. Try to remember, it was started by terrorists on 9/11.

Let's look at the "worst" president and mismanagement claims.

FDR led us into World War II. Germany never attacked us: Japan did. From 1941-1945, 450,000 lives were lost, an average of 112,500 per year.

Truman finished that war and started one in Korea, North Korea never attacked us. From 1950-1953, 55,000 lives were lost, an average of 18,333 per year.

John F. Kennedy got us into the Vietnam conflict in 1962. North Vietnam never attacked us.

Johnson turned Vietnam into a quagmire. From 1965-1975, 58,000 lives were lost, an average of 5,800 per year.

Clinton went to war in the Balkans without UN or French consent, Serbia never attacked us. He was offered Osama bin Laden's head on a platter three times by Sudan and did nothing. Osama has attacked us on multiple occasions.

In the two years since terrorists attacked us, President Bush has liberate two countries, crushed the Taliban, crippled al-Qaida, put nuclear inspectors in Libya, Iran and North Korea without firing a shot, and captured a terrorist who slaughtered 300,000 of his own people. We lost 600 soldiers, an average of 30 a year. Bush did all this abroad while not allowing another terrorist attack at home.

Worst president in history? Come on!

My nominations:

Harding: His only legacies were the Teapot Dome scandal and inventing the word "normalcy."

Calvin Coolidge: Took more naps than any other President in history. Responded to the Stock Market Crash...by taking another map. Laissez-faire government works sometimes, but not in times of national crisis.

Andrew Jackson: Initiated the Trail of Tears, the worst incident of ethnic cleansing in United States history.

Half the facts are bullocks, and comparing body bags between wars now and 50 years ago is stupid.

I think that statistically it is hard to argue against Grant - drunkard, corrupt, etc.

Also, Taft was really bad.

Nixon would have to be on the list. He did A LOT of good, but let's face it when you resign before you get kicked out that is bad.

FDR is different IMHO - I disagree with him on so many levels - but the man tried and did so with the best intentions and with I think a clean conscience. Little did he know that only WWII would get us out of the depression. Hindsight is always 20/20. Hard for me to say that WWII was not justified. Japan attacked and Germany declared war. Seems pretty justified to me, especially since we tried to stay out for several years.

Funny Coolidge quote. Reporter took bet that he could get Coolidge to say three words. Coolidge was notoriously short with words. Reporter says to Coolidge, I bet my buddy you'd say three words, what'd ya say? Collidge replies, "you lose".

LBJ did some good - civil rights and all - but overall he did a lot of bad - he is on my short list for sure.
