View Full Version : Looking for pics of Combat Medics
Being in the medical field, I'm interested in seeing some pictures of combat medics. I work with a few (at a VA medical center) and I find their stories very interesting. This would include Navy Corpsman and any other "medics" from any armed service.
Thanking you guys in advance!

They're just like any other soldier.
Going to take a wild guess and say these are Combat Medics:

I've allways admired medics, seems like a cool and important job.
I've even considered trying to become one if i do end up in the Norwegian army. It ranks as the dream job along with being a submariner. :)
But it doesn't look like i'll be going at all, so it seems to end up with the dream.

I picture I took of our PA (in the background) and a combat medic in Iraq 2003. He's looking at a picture of a bullet that was lodged in a little girl's head (she lived). Hey, at least my pictures are original, I took them.

Heres a couple more (one repeat a bit closer) with the g36, yes, it is training in Georgia, tactical medical course. I think it is rangers from the 1/75. I will try and get more details.

why dont they have armbands or anything like in WW2....More of a target?
I've they would be wearing armbands they would have to get rid of there weapons. You don't shoot at something with a red cross, and certaly don't shoot from something with a red cross.
Only info I saw on the site about the pics
July 2005 Host Agency: 1/75 Ranger Btn - Savannah, Georgia
An the rest on the site

DnA is right, it is a medical course taught by a private company, no idea where the g36's came from, sorry.

Our medics wear a red cross and still carry a pistol.

Those guns are airsoft guns, you can see an orange tip on the guy on the far right, I'm not saying they aren't real combat medics because they are.

during the gulf war 1 we had a medic for the whole company, and for each squad we had 1 combat lifesaver. there not real medics but just trained the basics, kinda takes off the pressure for the real medic

being a medic in the army, does this create a good flow for becoming a doctor in civilian life?
*is considering becoming an army medic*
because i do know there are us army special forces medics who are now a days ER doctors.
Our medics wear a red cross and still carry a pistol.
They also carry a rifle aswell, atleast most of the ones I've seen do.
Also, most if not all of our current enemies don't respect the red cross.
Medics carry weapons to defend themselves an the wounded.

Here's another of my pics. Notice the armband on one of the medics, they weren't suppose to wear them, but my infantry company didn't stop the practice much in the field, hope this helps. How many have you seen with shotguns?

I was going to ask that...someone told me they could only carry pistols (in the US Army) and don't carry rifles but this dude has one:

I've seen lots of US Army Combat Medics Carry M4s and US Navy Corpman carrying M16A2s an A4s aswell as a DMR.

I was a medic and i carried a rifle, we have to be able to defend ourself and the wounded.

During WW2 for example, medics were often (in the US army atleast, as far as i've understood it) conscientous objectors (spelling's probably WAY off) who had been drafted. They were then given training and no guns, and often opted to not carry any weapons themselves.

thought the same thing, also that g36 +"strange" scope combo is a quite common airsoft gun sight
